saturday came by, too quickly.

"takashi. i'm sorry i won't be able to make it." she called him as she got off the train.

she felt bad.

she didn't want to use him for her own benefit to forget him.

"you like nishimura right?" he chuckled over the line. despite being new, rumours said it all.

"...yes. but it's unrequited." she laughed despite feeling pathetic.

"i don't think so."
his remark made her doubt.

"how so?"

"im not in the place to talk but, thank you for telling me instead of standing me up." takashi dodged.

he was nice.

way too nice for her.

"im sorry but thank you for understanding."

"it's all good. we still friends yeah?"

"of course." she smiled.

and so their date has been cancelled.

some part of her was relieved but the other was still empty.

as if the weather understood her feelings, it was beginning to rain. luckily, she had brought an umbrella in case.

a call.

oh, it was from him.

to pick up or not pick up.

she could not resist.

"hello?" she answered, trying to sound as casual as possible. she did not want him to think she was still weeping over him, even if she was.

"where are you?" the boy on the line spoke.

"that's none of your concern."

it was a bit silent, but then he spoke again. "please? i just want to know where you are."

"at the train station, about to meet takashi." she lied. if she didn't get off the train, it would've been true but she had already made up her mind.

suddenly, he hung up.

no words.

just, BEEP BEEP BEEP.

she was so confused. he called her for what??

she didn't know why she wasn't heading home. she could, but she stood in the rain with her umbrella on the empty platform.

who was she waiting for?

there was no one to wait for.

her hopes are always too high.

"yui!"
the longing voice echoed out.
