Pulling away she wiped away her son's tears. "I know you are sad about your quirk, but remember they grow stronger when we get older... perhaps you could have armor... though it would be sad to not see my baby's cute little face anymore." Izuku sniffled and shook his head. "I'm not cute..." He whispered as she scooped him up in her arms and rubbed her face against his as he started to giggle. "You are my little baby." This had been the norm between son and mother, Izuku had been comforted more times than he count through his years when he was young...

later in the years, he had confronted Katsuki who had been beating down on a kid about a year younger. His eyes morphed into a shocked one when Izuku placed his hands up in the air, completely blocking Katsuki from doing anything to the kid. "STOP IT KACCHAN! This ISN'T WHAT HEROES DO!" Izuku's shout shocked something in the blond as he had stopped moving for a moment. Only for him to close his eyes, a grin spreading across his face. "heh... Do you think you know anything about being a Hero? Worthless Deku..." Opening his eyes the color red pierces his heart in fear. "Move out of the way DEKU!"

Izuku stood his ground as another blemish appeared on his arm out of his emotions. "If you keep doing this I-... I won't f-forgive you!" Katsuki could only grin as he made his way over towards the viridian boy. The kid next to Izuku started running as Katsuki's new target was himself. "Who says I want your forgiveness, stupid Deku!" The popping was a lot larger now as an explosion rang off on his arm and Izuku could only wince, he almost blacked out from the pain before it was over as quickly as it started.

Izuku slowly sat up, his ears ringing from the small explosions. Staring down at his arms he saw the little blemishes were on the ground... like it was shattered from the explosion, looking down he had grimaced and saw it was like a scab... ripped off and slowly bleeding. Standing up with wobbly legs he looked off after Katsuki who had been walking forward... leaving Izuku behind...

Turning around he looked around for the younger kid but couldn't find any traces. Though he couldn't blame him, if he didn't run, Katsuki would probably have hurt him as bad or worse... he fell down as he tripped over an uprooted root from a tree. Like it had been waiting for someone to trip over it, he thought bitterly as he sat down next to the tree looking up at the sky. He couldn't help but watch birds fly by, flying through the wind... silently he dozed off just watching the birds and clouds, wondering what it was like to be up there...

This had become the norm, not every counter with Katsuki was the same, most of the time, he was the one pushed around so he didn't have to protect anyone, he just had to take the hits. He would sit down and look up at the sky, watching the clouds and birds fly free before going back to his mom and being fussed over for the small cuts and scrapes... just rinse and repeat... His mother had kept telling him the same thing. "You need to be more careful." And "If someone is picking on you, please tell me." and then the next thing she had told him was. "I signed you up for self-defense classes."

Izuku looked up at her curiously. At the age of twelve when he heard her say that... she had suspected that he was being bullied from some of his spots being scabbed over and small soot marks littered him and she could only pray that it wasn't who she thought it could have been, but noticing the lack of ash blond children running around her house playing heroes with Izuku, she could only fear that it was true. Her decision was made though... if he really wanted to pursue being a hero, she would be damned to not prepare him in some self-defense.

"Thank you, mom..." He whispered as she gave a small kiss to his forehead. "Your classes start tomorrow." He nodded slowly as he looked outside his window. "Hey, mom. if you had a choice of a quirk... what would you have?" Izuku asked making her hum for a moment as she placed some of the plates in her arms into a cabinet "Probably to teleport." Izuku nodded his head, it would be nice to be able to go anywhere. "What about you, honey?" She had a probable guess but she couldn't be more surprised. "The ability to fly." He placed his cheek in his hand as he looked at a pigeon flying past the window.

"Why is that?" He turned around and gave a small smile, his blemishes seemingly glistened as he thought about it. "Birds and clouds look so free, I want to feel like that again..." Inko couldn't help but smile fondly, it was a really good thought, not to mention it was the first time in a long while since he saw Izuku smile like that. "That's a good one Izu..." She said gently as he nodded his head in confirmation. "One day you will find something that'll make you feel like that. I'm sure of it." Izuku smiled fondly at the thought... "Hopefully it is soon." He rubbed his arm out of habit before he looked up towards the clouds.
