Promise

Chapter 37

I stood there with blood pouring from my cheek, staring at him. I stood there and watched him as he calmed down and realised what he had done. I stood there trying to figure out if it was a mistake or not, but to be honest, I wasn't sure anymore.

"Jess, I'm so sorry." Ricky said, reaching up to touch my bleeding cheek.

"Don't touch me" I snarled. I stormed into the bathroom, slammed and locked the door behind me.

I saw to my cheek pretty quickly, I just stayed in the bathroom for longer because I couldn't face him. What do you say to a man who had lost his temper and hit you? What do you do when you love that same man?

That's the problem, I love him. If I didn't then my descision would be easy, leave him and never have anything to do with him again. But I do love him, it is just really difficult at the moment. Maybe there was something going on that I didn't know about. I'm determined to help him through it whatever it may be, because I love him.

I walked out to him, he heard the door open and looked to me. It was obvious that he had been crying. His eyes were red and his cheeks were puffy.

I kissed him, which surprised him. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me." Ricky said in a soft whisper.

"I know, I know." I said, wrapping my arms around his waist. "You havevto tell me what's going on so that I can help you."

"I don't want to worry you."

"I know you don't, but we can't have you getting stressed out like this anymore. Anyway, talking about things usually helps."

We promised that we would always talk to each other about things, no matter how big or small.
