The Scouts' Hunter (Attack on Titan Fanfiction)

At some point, the Levi Squad, including Eren, headed to the former Scout Regiment HQ. The former HQ was technically a converted castle but was secluded within a forest. The regiment later abandoned it because it was so far away from the city.

"Don't get cocky, rookie." Oluo leaned towards Eren as the squad travelled to the former HQ.

"Excuse me?" Eren looked back at him.

"I have no idea about this whole titan thing, but the idea of Captain Levi constantly chaperoning a pissant as you make me--" Just before he could finish his sentence, Oluo bit his tongue.

When the squad had arrived at the HQ, a few soldiers, Petra, Oluo and Y/N, were gathered near the horse stables.

"Blabbering like crazy while riding a horse would make you bite your tongue, Oluo." Petra scolded.

"...I was making a first impression." Oluo countered her. "That rookie was quaking in his boots,"

"I think he was just as surprised by how foolish you are, Oluo."

"At any rate, he's just as what I expected," Oluo wiped his mouth after getting a sip of water.

"You know you never used to talk like this," Petra pointed out how he had changed his speech.

"I agree with Petra here. If I'm not mistaken, you're starting to sound like the Captain. It's better if you'd stop it...You're nothing like him," Y/N responded, siding with Petra.

"Hah...You both sound like you're hoping to become my wife. If so, then you're steps away from it," Oluo said in a cocky tone. The two weren't impressed by the statement at all.

"Don't you think you're getting carried away just because the Captian chose you to be in the squad? I wish you'd bitten yourself to death," Y/N dissed.

"I'm your comrade in arms! That's not cool..."

Minutes later, Levi orders the entire squad to clean up the abandoned HQ because it has been unused for months. All of the outside soldiers soon began cleaning at the order of Levi, and they all spent the following few hours cleaning the entire building.

"Top floor is cleaned, sir," Eren came into the room where Levi was currently in. "Sir, where should I sleep in?"

"In the basement," Levi responds.

"In the basement again?"

"Yes, you still can't control your powers yet, so we'll keep you in the basement. It'll be more accessible to restrain you if you turn into a titan. That's one of the conditions we were given when you were placed under our custody, and it's a rule," Levi explained his reasoning as to why he chose to keep Eren in the basement, "Clean this room. I'm going to check the other rooms you've cleaned."

"Yes, sir..."

"You look disappointed," Petra said as she popped into the room Eren was assigned to clean.

"Sorry?" Eren looked at her, confused.

"It's not an unusual reaction. Captain Levi doesn't seem like the ideal hero that people make him be, does he? The honest Captain Levi is surprisingly short, high strung, impolite, and unapproachable."

"No...What took me by shock is that he undoubtedly accepts decisions delivered by higher-ups,"

"You thought because he bears a lot of weight, that he wouldn't be bothered with rank or the command structure?"

"Right...I had assumed he wouldn't take orders from anyone easily,"

"I don't know all the details, but I think he used to be like that. From what I've heard, before Captain Levi joined the Scout Regiment, he lived in the city's underground with Y/N and was an infamous thug. I don't know what happened, but some say that Commander Erwin brought him into the regiment," Petra revealed a bit of Levi's and Y/N's past.
