do you know what a surprise is?
well, let me tell you a tale.
stay for it, it'll be a good one,
i won't get into much detail.

we met, we talked,
we became close.
let's skip this part,
you know how it goes.

we were inseparable,
the best of friends.
kinda funny how our tale,
starts the way it ends.

there was this one time,
you called it quits.
i thought that it would kill me,
and it really did.

but anyway, the past is past,
let's focus on the now.
our friendship is past,
and she is your now.

god how we changed,
in the span of a year.
she became your everything,
as i saw me disappear.

and the fact that i called it,
way back in december.
how she'd replace me,
i guess you remember.

that was back when,
she was still new.
i don't think you remember,
and honestly? didn't expect you to.

and as i saw you defend her yesterday,
do you know what i figured out?
that you'd forsake our friendship for her,
without a sliver of doubt.

it's the end of all endings now,
it should've killed me, right?
well here's the part,
that really had me surprised.

i didn't care one bit,
about the fact that you had left.
your absence was peace,
a calm feeling in my chest.

don't get me wrong, i cared,
but about the person i befriended.
so it doesn't hurt one bit
to lose the puppet she created.
