"We were finishing up with lacrosse practice and I went back inside to her my phone. When I went back outside Brett was gone. The only thing left was his lacrosse stick, a ball laced with wolfsbane and his car." Jules explained to them as they stood around the kitchen island. "The woods were close by so he's probably running, which means he's still alive." Scott hoped he was right not only for Brett sake, but for Jules and Lori's as well.

"If we want to find him first we need to get going, we don't know anything about the person who how did this so the faster we find him the better." Malia says as she grabs her jacket and starts walking out. "We'll find him, okay?" Scott places his hand on Jules' shoulder and she stares at him with almost empty eyes as she tries to convince herself that he's okay.

"We'll find him."

"Here. I think he set a trap." Liam says as he points to the arrow Brett had thrown at Monroe. "He's fighting back." Scott says with a hopeful tone in his voice. "And now we know he's alive." When Malia said that it was like a weight was lifted off of Jules' shoulders. The hope that was slowly diminishing inside her had slowly comeback.

"But he's still hurt. We need to find him—he needs to know we're here." The desperation in Lori's voice was loud and clear but the group knew they had to go about the situation carefully. "You want the Hunter to know we're here, too?" Malia asks sarcastically.

"He's new. We can take him." Liam says wanting to howl to find Brett. "What if Brett howls back? He'll lead the Hunter right to him." Jules tells him which leaves him silent. "No, we could find him first. There's no human that can track sounds faster than we can, and we're got the advantage. We've done this before. We know what we're doing, guys." Scott encouraging voice was downplayed by Malia as she was beginning to get frustrated.

"How come I can't catch his scent?" Malia questions. "He's masking it." Lori tells her bringing Jules back to the time when she had first met Brett and her and Mason were talking about how hot they though Brett was. Tears well up in her eyes as she though back to the memory but quickly wiped them away so no one would see.

"Can someone tell him not to?" Malia says with a frustrated tone as Liam noticed blood in the ground. Realizing it's Brett's he rushes back to the group. "He went this way." Liam says pointing his finger as Malia realizes that the arrow wasn't supposed to hit the tree. "His trap didn't work."

"Maybe this Hunter is not such an amateur." Scott says as the begun walking to follow the trail. Jules grabs Lori's hand knowing she was nervous as well. She had already lost her parents, losing Brett was not an option.

"Or maybe he's learning."

Brett, who still hasn't healed from his injuries, was still running. He painfully shoved his fingers into the arrow wound in his shoulder before spilling his blood purposely over a patch of rocks on the ground. He then ripped off a strip of fabric from his shirt and uses it as a tourniquet to staunch the bleeding from his shoulder.

He paused for a moment, taking a breather and hoping that Jules or Lori would find him. He looked up to the stars for a moment, the fear of being hunted had gotten to him and he felt tears welling up in his eyes.

His eyes fell back to his feet until he realized something. Lori would be able to find him with the rocks that were piled up by his feet. He smiled internally as he was filled with hope.
