"But Mommy, I've been calm all day and my legs just need to run." Maddie whined.
By now everyone had climbed out of the cars and were gathered in front of the house as everything was being unloaded and moved inside. The wind whipped through causing Jemma to shiver. "Maddie, why don't we take Mommy inside where it's warmer and I can show you where you can work off some of that energy." I said while scooping her up into my arms.
"Okay Papa." Maddie replies while wrapping her arms around my neck. Goddess I love it when she calls me that. The first time was a shock but none of us corrected her and after she continued to call me Papa and Nick Daddy all day long I think we all have just accepted that she'll no longer call us by our names. Jemma still looked unsure but she hasn't said anything to us so we're just letting it be.
Nick wrapped his arm around Jemma's shoulder and she leaned into him. As he bent down and kissed the top of her head I felt daggers being glared at us and looked up towards our house and saw Layla watching from one of the second floor windows. If looks could kill I have a feeling I would have lost both my mate and my brother to her murderous gaze. Thankfully they seemed to be completely oblivious to her.
Layla may be a problem. I linked to Nick as we made our way into the house.
I figured she would be. One of us needs to be with Jemma at all times, I don't want that psycho to be anywhere near her.
Agreed
"I took the liberty to have all your stuff moved into the Alpha suite already" Mom said as we moved into the living room.
Both Nick and I exchanged looks before he said "You didn't have to do that Mom, we were going to take care of it when the time was right."
"Psh, Nonsense. Now that your mate is here with you there is no reason for you boys to sleep anywhere else." She turned to the people carrying in Jemma's and Maddie's bags "Those ones go in the Alpha suite and those ones go in the room across the hall." Then she turned to Jemma "I hope you don't mind but I was so excited when I heard that I had a new granddaughter I took the liberty of setting up her room. But if there is anything you don't like or she doesn't like we can run into town and get her something else."
"Oh, ummm, well you see we are only going to be here for a few days then Maddie and I will be going to our new apartment in town." Jemma said while looking at the ground.
The look that we got from both our parents told us we had some explaining to do. My Mom for the first time was speechless and it was my Dad that filled in the awkward silence Jemma's words had created "Well in that case Maddie will have a room when you all come for visits." then he held out his hand "I'm Chris by the way, it's a pleasure to finally meet you Jemma."
"PSSST, MOMMY." Maddie whisper yelled while pulling on Jemma's pant leg.
"What is it sweetie." Jemma looked relieved to have a distraction from the current conversation.
"I have to use the potty." She whispered again while looking up at all the adults who are now watching her.
"Oh honey, here let me show you." My Mom says while holding out her hand for Maddie to hold which she did without hesitation.
"You don't have to stay in our room if you don't want to. We can get you your own room or set you up in Maddie's." Nick said but I could tell he would be sad if she took him up on the offer.
"Let me see your room first and then I'll decide." She replied with a wink.
We had been teasing and hinting the whole way here that we wanted to finish what we started last night. We had to be covert about our desires so that our very observant daughter didn't catch onto what we were getting at.
