We Promised.... But What Happened?

"Well, I'm glad that you know that. Look, I'm not mad at Tam or you for that matter. I'm mad with myself because I was so naïve in this situation. I'm sorry for keeping you in the dark, I just wanted to keep you safe." Val explained

"I know. Maybe moving to Dallas isn't so bad. I mean I won't have my friends with me to graduate with, but maybe this new environment will be good for the both of us." Karen spoke

"Listen, I'm going to go and tell Steven that we are ready for takeoff. How about we watch a movie and take a nap. I'm sure your crying has made you tired." Val suggested

"Yeah, that'll be good. But first I gotta pee." Karen said as she ran to the bathroom

Val headed to the front of the plane to inform Steven they were ready to leave. Before she could open her mouth, Steven spoke first

"I'm sorry Val, but we can't leave as of now." Steven informed her

"Why, is everything okay?" Val asked concerned

"I'm not sure, nobody is responding to me. I'm waiting to hear back in the next five minutes or so." Steven replied

"Okay, well Karen and I will be in my bedroom watching a movie. Just come back there when everything is clear." Val said heading back

"Hey, are leaving yet?" Karen asked as she looked for a movie to watch

"Not yet. He said in about five minutes." Val said

"Oh okay. Well go change in your lounge. You know you hate laying on the bed in jeans and stuff." Karen told

"I'll be right back." Val said heading to bathroom

As Karen waited for her mom to change, Steven knocked on the bedroom door. Karen went to open it

"Hey Steven, are we ready to take off?" Karen asked him

"Yes, but there's something you and your mom should see." Steven replied

"Okay, well she's in the bathroom, but I can come and see though. I'll just tell her. One second." Karen replied

"Okay, I'll be right outside the door." Steven said

"Hey Ma, when you're done come to the front, Steven needs to show you something before we leave." Karen spoke through the door

"Okay, I'll be out in a second." Val replied

"Okay." Karen said heading out the door and following Steven

"This is why we couldn't leave just yet." Steven spoke

"What is it?" Karen asked

"This." Steven replied opening the curtain allowing Karen to walk through

"Oh my God. Mrs. Dawns." Karen said

"Hi, Karen." Angela spoke

"What happened to your face?" Karen said as she walked closer

"Uhm, a box fell from a shelf as I was trying to reach it." Angela lied

"Did your husband do this?" Karen asked knowing the truth

"Hey, Steven what was the-. Angela." Val spoke

"Hey Val. I hope I'm not intruding. When I stopped by your house, Yolanda and everyone had said that you had left. I was about to head back home when they suggested that I leave with you. Michelle dropped me off here at the airport. If it's too much I can just go home." Angela said as she started to deplane

"No Angela, wait. I wouldn't mind if you joined us. But I have to ask, did Eric do that?" Val asked examining her face

"Yeah. He found out that you and the others were helping me. I don't know how he found out. He had to have been following you all." Angela said on the verge of the tears
