I was soaking wet.

Water pellets dropped from my hair down to the ends of Nico's heavy blazer thrown over my shoulders and onto the marbled floor of the elevator.

Silence lingers as the man to my left hits the button for the last floor, his hair matted to his forehead and his black dress shirt completely molded to his skin.

I could feel the displeasure oozing off him, and I stayed silent because I knew he blamed me, even if I didn't do anything.

He was the one that fell into step next to me, throwing a blazer at me and telling me to put it on.

He was the one that followed me to the penthouse.

We didn't say anything, but the walk was nice, until the rain came.

Because when it rained, it poured.

The elevator doors open, the dark foyer of the penthouse coming into view as we both step through the threshold.

His expensive shoes squeak as he takes a step into the foyer and I cringe when his already tense jaw tightens.

Like a robot, he remove his shoes and I open my mouth to thank him anyways but he beats me to it.

"Not a fucking word." He grits, his body tense as ever as he steps past me and makes his way up the stairs.

I stare after the brooding giant, before removing my heels and walking towards the back hallway that led to my room, only pausing at the bottom of the stairs when I realize I've still got Nicos blazer.

It was an expensive one, one I doubted could be put in the wash. With a sigh, I turn and climb the staircase and walk down the hall to his room, only to find it completely empty.

I don't bother looking around the rest of the floor for him, this was going to be quick anyways. I navigate my way into his walk in closet. I'd been in here only a handful of times, mostly just passing by the large sectioned space whenever I used Nico's ensuite bathroom.

I set the blazer down on one of his counters, my shoulders jumping when Nicos low voice sounds in the distance. Low and guttural. "Fuck."

I slowly make my way out of the closet, eyeing the ajar door of the bathroom as Nico's voice sounds while I hear the shower in the background.

I don't think anything of it, in fact I turn around to leave, only to stop at his next word.

"Josie."

But it isn't the use of my name that has me turning around and looking towards the door curiously. It's the low groan that follows.

It's none of my business.

I step away, but my eyes strain to the side glimpsing through the crack.

Why was he saying my name?

I didn't have a clear view of inside. I knew Nico stood in the shower, but all I could see was a tattooed hand braced against the marble wall as low curses echoed through the space.

It takes a moment for me to realize that this isn't as innocent as I'd thought and my face flushes as my imagination conjures up crude images of what could be going on in there.
