We Promised.... But What Happened?

"A nap does sound good right now. Seeing as that I was up half the night." Cassandra said

"Okay, well you just make sure you snore. Val don't you kick me either." Yolanda said as she pulled her blanket over her body

"I don't snore." Cassandra fussed back

"TUH! Even the Lord knows that's a lie." Cheryl said

Soon they were all asleep and before you know it, it was 5:30 and everyone had woken up

*Karen's POV*

"Should I wear these earrings or the-? Doe are those my earrings?"

"I mean they aren't mine." Doe replied

"I really wish you two were coming with us tonight." I said to Jacky and Tam

"I know, but mom was like this was something only for the two of you tonight." Jacky said

"Yeah well, whatever it is, I just hope that it's nothing serious." Doe replied as she fixed her hair

"GIRLS! Are you ready? We don't want to be late." Cheryl said

"Coming!" Doe and Karen said

"Alright, we are going to head out. Enjoy tonight." Tam and Jacky said as she headed downstairs

"We're right behind you." Doe replied following them

"Oh, don't you girls look pretty." Cassandra said

"Thank you." Doe and Karen replied to her compliment

"You girls ready?" Cheryl asked

"Yes ma'am." They both said

"Let's head to the car." Cheryl said as everyone headed out the door

Walking to the car, Valerie was still having anxiety. Michelle and Yolanda noticed it and grabbed ahold her hands

"Hey, everything is going to be okay." Michelle said

"Then why do I feel like shit right now?" Val asked

"Because it's normal. You're a mother." Yolanda said

"Ma come on. I'm ready to eat." Karen yelled out the window

"That's my cue. I'll call y'all tonight if it's not too late." Val said

"It's fine. We'll be up." Yolanda said

"YoYo, we're going to your house cause I you got the liquor. I need a drink." Cassandra said walking to her car

"Is it too late to put her up for adoption?" Yolanda asked

"Yeah, it is." Val said laughing as she got in the car

Once Val got in the car, they made their way to SavannahBlue. She sat in the passenger seat facing the window meditating. She was praying that everything goes well. But she knew once they she told the girls the news, they were going to be emotions running amok.

*OMINSCENT POV*

*SavannahBlue Restaurant*

"Good evening and welcome to SavannahBlue." The Maître d' said as they walked in the door

"Hi, Good evening. Reservations for 4 under James." Cheryl said

"Yes, if you would just follow me." She spoke

They followed behind her, Cheryl was smart enough to book a private room so that way they wouldn't disrupt the other patrons in case things got kind of awry.

"Your waiter will be with you momentarily." The Maître d' spoke as she placed their menus in front of them

"Thank you." Everyone replied

"Are you guys ready for the summer?" Val asked to lighten up the tension that only she felt

"Most definitely. Junior year was very successful. Can't wait for senior year." Karen said

"Doe, how do you feel about your year?" Cheryl asked

"I feel pretty good. Mrs. Dawns and I did start off rocky, but we're good now. Speaking of, she missed the last two weeks, I just hope everything is okay. That's not like her." Doe replied

Cheryl and Val looked at each other not making it too obvious to the girls. They both made a mental note to ask Michelle if she had spoken with her.

"I'm sure everything is okay. But if she doesn't show up Monday, then we'll talk with your principal. How's that sound?" Cheryl asked

"Please do that. I didn't want to say anything, but her husband gives me these weird vibes. I don't know, it's something off about him." Doe replied

"Yeah, I noticed it when he came to the school about a month ago. He kept staring at me with this look. Couldn't quite understand or read him." Karen said

When Karen made that statement, Val's anxiety went out and anger took over. She really couldn't believe this bastard was now stalking her daughter. Oh, she knew she had to end him soon.

By this time, their waiter had come and brought 4 glasses of water and took their orders. Val ordered the Whole Snapper with a side of Maple Yams, Cheryl and Karen ordered Shrimp and Grits, Doe ordered her Fried Chicken with Maple Yams and Collard Greens. Val and Cheryl also ordered a bottle of Love Block – Sav Blanc.

"Can you tell us the real reason we're here tonight before our food comes?" Doe asked

"Y'all don't wanna wait?" Val asked

"Not really. Whatever you have to tell us, will determine if I want to eat or take my food home." Karen replied

"Okay, well the reason we brought you two here tonight was to ask, how would you feel about us moving to Dallas?" Val asked
