Crybaby x Ben part 29

Ben woke up in the middle of the night to find Crybaby shivering like crazy. He shuffles closer to her, wrapping his arms around her until she stopped shaking.

"I can't sleep." Crybaby mumbles, getting up from the bed to open up the window

"You want me to stay up with you for a bit?" Ben asks, his voice laced with concern

"No, it's okay. Go back to sleep." Crybaby tells him before grabbing a ponytail holder off the dresser to put her hair up

"Whatever's going through that head of yours, talk to me about it." Ben said, getting up from the bed to wrap a blanket around her body

"I talked to my mom before I went to sleep. I guess she's still upset with me because I haven't been very supportive of her relationship with Barry, but I don't like him one bit. She keeps saying he might be my new father and I snapped at her before I hung up. She's really forgotten about him, like he was never a part of our lives." Crybaby states

"Your mom just needs somebody to love her the way your dad used to." Ben said, pulling her on his lap

"My dad didn't love her, that's the funniest thing of all. He cheated on her many times and she forgave him regardless." Crybaby said, tears welling up in her eyes

"You want me to make you some hot chocolate or something?" Ben asks, twirling her ponytail

"That's sweet of you, but I'll be okay. Just cuddle with me." Crybaby states, jerking her head up after hearing a noise

They get ready to use their powers until they realize that it's Rudy and Angela coming into the room

"Dude, we can't sleep and Rudy keeps kicking me out of my bed!" Angela croaks

"I told you I was a rough sleeper." Rudy snaps, tightening his hold on his teddy bear

"Alright, everybody get in." Ben said, grabbing their hands and putting them under the covers

"You know, you're not exactly a light sleeper either Angela. You kept slapping me every time I snored." Rudy grunts

"I hate when people snore, it keeps me awake." Angela growls

"You're such a drama queen!" Rudy squeals

"Alright, you two. Save it for the morning. Go to sleep." Ben softly said, leaning over to kiss them on the head

"Goodnight." They both said in unison before falling into a deep sleep minutes later

"I can see you being a father of two in the future. Maybe a better father than the one you had growing up." Crybaby said

"Well, now I won't have to worry about him bothering us ever again. They finally get a chance to be kids again." Ben sighs

"Speaking of kids, did you ever make a bucket list when you were Rudy's age?" Crybaby asks, sitting on the edge of the bed next to him

"Oh, I made a bunch. Why?" Ben said, eyeing her with suspicion

"I want you to grab one of your lists and we can hit the town. You know, do the things you never got to do when you were a kid. It might be fun!" Crybaby exclaims

"Or it might backfire and we'll end up getting chased by an angry mob with pitchforks." Ben jokes

"Come on, you have to loosen up a bit. What's the last good memory you had when you were his age?" Crybaby pushes, motioning to a snoring Rudy

"Sitting on the edge of the pool eating ice cream with my mom. She chased down the ice cream truck for half a block. By the time she got back, she didn't want hers. She was tired." Ben laughs
