Tensions between the Soviet Union and the Western Allies were getting high and we know that this led to the Cold War. Then the usual stuff of our timeline happens but not in this timeline. Not from a factor in this reality, but from an alternate one of a different reality.
........... United States, 1945
Ronald Dainel and his wife watched as Ronald Zussman kissed his bride as the crowd cheered. It had been a couple of months since the war had ended and Dainels was gald to make it out and kept his promise to Zussman. The Jewish-German was still recovering from his experience as a POW but his physical health was back in order. He still had to use some aid to walk correctly.
As Dainels was watching the event unfold as the married couple walked down the reception, he could feel a bump on his elbow.
"Dainels remember us?" said a familar voice.
Dainels was shock to find that these were his squad members from the 1st Infantry Division.

"Frank! Drew! How you're doing?" Dainels said as he shook their hands and introduce them to his wife. "Meet my wife, Hazel and my son, Joseph Turner."
"Nice to meet you there." Frank Alleio said.
"Pretty cool that unlike most GIs, you're already married." Drew Stiles said. "And nice how you honor Turner."
"You could say that." Dainels said. "Wish Howard and Perison were here?"
"If it weren't for racism for Howard. Particular with Southerns." Frank said. "No offence to you Dainels." as he was aware of Dainels being a Texan. Not all Southern people were racist to Africans.
"Well Perison in occupition of Germany but for Howards, not sure?" Drew Stilws said.
"Guys you don't want to miss the fun there?" Zussman called out.
"We're coming over Zussman." Dainels called out. Smiling that he was able to get Zussman out. He hope to never go to war again as he perfer to be with his family but will do anything to aid in the war effort.
