Chapter 1

KHUSHI
I woke up by the bright sunlight falling on my face , "i guess I forgot to close the windows"I mumbled myself.

Let me introduce myself, I am Khushi Singhania daughter of Omkar and Preeti Singhania. I lost my parents in my childhood. I live in NYC with my bff Aditi , we have been friends for 18 years now . I work at Google , it was my dream to work there...

I came out of my thoughts by Aditi calling me " Khushi are you up or do i need to give you a cold shower on the bed?" Oh No that's the last thing I'd want "I'm up I'm up"
I got out of my bed and took a shower and got ready for work

I went in the kitchen and made myself a coffee and grabbed something to eat .
After i was done me and Adi started to our work places . I dropped her to her work place and reached to mine . As i was getting out of my car i got a call from my MAMI ( your mother's brother's wife).

I accepted the call "Hi Mamiiii" I said all excitedly
"Hi Khushi! How are you ?"Mami chuckled and said
"I'm good now that you called"well it's true i do miss her always

She and my MAMA( mother's brother) are the one who took care of me after my parents death. They have always been like parents to me though they live in India they make sure I'm safe and sound here. They never stopped me from anything they helped me achieve my goals and for them I could do anything....

"Awww ok listen to me you drama queen I hope you remember Navratri is starting next week . So I was thinking if you could come home for Navratri and it's been a long time since you met us too"mami said
"Sure mami I'll think about it"
"Okk Ahh and Khushi I actually need a favor from you" mami said
"Yeah sure mami tell me what do you need?"
"Actually I'm sending a package there to you which is supposed to be sent to my friend Swarna Khurana I guess you remember her . So can you please give it to her when you get time?" Mami said
"Of course mami you don't need to tell please just text me the address and I'll give it to her"
"Ok Khushi thank you , I'll get going then and think about coming home yeah?"mami said
"Yes mami I'll come for sure byeee"

I end the call and get inside my office and start working .

I got done with my work at 7:00 pm . Adi texted me that she's done as well so i picked her up and got back home . I freshened up and got changed into my nightwear.

I went in the kitchen and started making dinner . While making dinner I thought about going to India for Navratri . Well who wouldn't want to . In India Navratri is one of the most famous festivals, the dresses the dandiya nights the pooja's is completely different and amazing I love this festival a lot....

Adi snapped her fingers on my face " where are you lost? I'm called you for like 5 times" Adi said

"Huh, oh yeah mami called me today she wants me to come home for Navratri so i was thinking about that"

"Navratri in India that's amazing well if you are going then count me in even my parents want me to come home for navratri"she said

"Oh okayy , Navratri starts next week so I think we should leave this weekend then ,oh btw i have to go out tomorrow so you're on your own"I informed her I have to give the package tomorrow

"Godd okk , I'll book the flight tickets and start packing then we need to leave in just 3 days!"she said all excitedly . I chuckled and said ok
