In a laboratory of where the remnants, or at least the remaining people of humanity are residing in, are currently researching something about the very material that brought Ships to life, Mental Cubes. These mysterious cubes appeared after alien-like invaders called SIRENS had started to take over the planet.

And they are currently researching about it's properties, when one scientist discovered something odd in a collection of Mental Cubes that were being used to construct Ship-Girls, the souls of the ships that were made manifest into human form.

In the info, there's a bit of a dissonance regarding the Mental Cubes' properties. It said something about creating a Ship-Boy?

?: "This doesn't seem right."

?: "What is?"

?: "It's this. I never seen this before."

A couple of scientists begin to huddle around the singular one as they tried to observe the info that is displayed in front of them. They seemed to be surprised regarding the info stating about the creation of Ship-Boys and Ship-Girls.

?: "How's that possible? Every single Mental Cube can only give rise to Ship-Girls! Is this an abnormality?"

?: "You ain't the only one, we're getting reports from across the other research bases that there's also a similar abnormality in some of their Mental Cubes!"

?: "Wait, what?!"

Everyone seemed to be shocked at the appearance of this very abnormality, they were wondering about this odd error appearing in the Mental Cubes. Sure, there still get Ship-Girls, but they didn't realize on just how much history can be changed if the possibility of Ship-Boys begin to emerge from the Mental Cubes.

?: "Umm... Dr. Hemingway? What should we do about this?"

Dr. Hemingway happened to be a 34-year old scientist that is the leader of the Mental Cubes Research Project. And although he is observant, and double-checking, there's one thing that sets him clear, and that description is his proceedings regarding experiments and their stability to continue the research.

Dr. Hemingway: "..........I'm not sure if it's just a fluke, but I think we should proceed to see if this error is true. Start the initiation, immediately!"

?: "But sir-"

Dr. Hemingway: "I have to see this for myself, and for you to see if this error isn't some mis-information regarding these Mental Cubes. Now do it!"

The scientists were beginning to murmur among themselves, but Dr. Hemingway insisted on proceeding with the experiment regarding the newly-discovered error. They proceeded to begin with the procedure by creating this so-called "Ship-Boy", and waited till it's done.

20 minutes later...

The team waited patiently, but nervously at their result before the experiment had ended with their creation. The initiation of the experiment has succeeded, but they were stunned to see an actual Ship-Boy. The Ship-Boy's appearance in question is of a 5-year old boy, who seemed confused on where he is. And according to the info regarding him, he's an Elco PT Boat!

?: "So, uhh.... Dr. Hemingway? What do you think of this?"

The Doctor in question is rather surprised on the subject before him, confirming his double-checking. He wanted to ask another scientist about the error, and if they can fix it.

Dr. Hemingway: "By God's name, it really is an abnormality... Is there any way to fix the error, Advik?"

The scientist who is referred to as Advik, is a 29-year old scientist. He has brown hair that has swept to the left side, and has amber-cored eyes. He happened to be a rather diligent scientist of the Mental Cubes Research Project, and a rather thorough individual with his reports.

Advik: "Umm... Unfortunately, I have no clue regarding this. If I can't find the source behind this error of the Mental Cubes, there's no way that I can create a solution to patch this error."

Dr. Hemingway: "Well, let's see how this would go... Admittedly, I'm curious to how this would go for the History of Azur Lane..."

And so, after the experiment led to a confirmation regarding the newly-discovered error of the Mental Cube, the scientists in question began to wonder about some various questions. "How would history change because of this?" "How would the Ship-Girls respond to a Ship-Boy?" "And should we hide the truth regarding this error?"

Advik: "I just don't understand the reason why this error is made! I'm stumped."

Dr. Hemingway: (Gets a mug of coffee) "Well then team, I suggest we take a time-out for around a hour. It's already eating us up."

Everyone: "Yes Dr. Hemingway...!"

?: "Man, I'm already pooped.."
?: "I did deserve it, you coming Dr. Hemingway?"

Dr. Hemingway: "I will, just hang on..!"
Mind: ("I don't know how, or why did this error appear, but I'm starting to think that maybe there's gonna be a change.")

And turns out, Dr. Hemingway might be right. Ever since then, the release of the PT Boat who happened to be a young Ship-Boy who went into the enrollment of Azur Lane Academy in secret, and the construction of various hidden Ship-Boys wondering if there were more Ship-Boys like them.

But you can't hide the truth forever, ever since the Ship-Boys, and the newly created Ship-Girls who were created with them, were covering themselves in a cloak to hide their faces, marked with a symbol of an Omni-cron on the back. And one of them is about to reveal themselves in the middle of a surprise attack.

[Hey guys, MatthiasWrites here! I know that this is a surprise regarding it, but I'm exploring other Fandoms to see if I can be compatible with writing down a story with that lore. And the lore that was chosen for this is the game Azur Lane!]
[I know it might be a little sloppy, but trust me, I'm just trying to get familiar with writing down the story, bit by bit. And familiarizing the lore with the game. But the plot in question is gonna be taken by the Anime Adaptation of the game, and if some of you might be bothered because of the fanservice, I suggest you ignore it. But I don't know much of the lore because I only heard pieces of it. So, don't expect much for this story.] - MatthiasWrites
