Chapter 1191: Even Fu Huai’an Had Benefited From the Association

“Don’t misunderstand. I didn’t incur the injuries to help you or Gu Qingcheng, I did it for myself…” Cen Mo was sitting in a wheelchair and looking at the scenery outside on the other end of the line, chucking softly. “If it weren’t for my injuries, how could I give Saihand free rein to help me settle that bunch of old fogeys! At the end of the day, this is mutually beneficial for both of us, and neither of us owes the other!”

Actually, Fu Huai’an was very clear that Cen Mo hadn’t done so just to let Saihand have free rein in dealing with matters.

In the past, Fu Huai’an felt that Cen Mo was a ruthless person, but from the looks of it now… actually, there was a soft and pure spot at the bottom of Cen Mo’s heart!

Perhaps so long as it concerned his younger sister Lin Nuan, Cen Mo would give it his all. Even Fu Huai’an had benefited from the association.

Fu Huai’an laughed but ultimately didn’t say another word of thanks.

“Is Xiao Nuan doing fine?” Cen Mo asked.

“Mm, I didn’t tell her about your injury. But because she hasn’t heard from you, she’s still rather worried.” Fu Huai’an closed the door to the study.

Cen Mo’s lips curled up. He heard the door to the ward open and turned around to see that it was Song Yao bringing their son in. She was also holding a thermos.

Cen Mo didn’t hide anything from Song Yao now. Hence, he said to Fu Huai’an, “After recuperating all this while, it’s time for me to appear. The first thing I’m going to do is send my men to kill that younger brother of Gu Qingcheng, who looks exactly like him. This way, you’ll have an excuse to get him to stay in Haicheng. That way, he can be under your protection! On my side, I’m assassinating Jacob Bellucci in order to vent my anger and also to let people on my side know that Jacob Bellucci is indeed not Gu Qingcheng!”

Fu Huai’an hadn’t expected that Cen Mo would do so much for Gu Qingcheng’s identity. He wanted to say thanks, but he felt that it wasn’t enough to express the thankfulness he felt in his heart.

“It’s best to inform Gu Qingcheng ahead of time. You make the preparations… This time, Gu Qingcheng might have to bleed a little!” Cen Mo said.

“Got it!” Fu Huai’an walked to the French windows and lifted the heavy curtains that were drawn. Staring at the night scenery outside the Fu residence, he said, “After this matter, recuperate well. Let me handle the remaining affairs!”

“Mm!” Cen Mo responded.

After hanging up, Cen Mo turned around and saw that Song Yao, who was carrying the baby in one arm, had already arranged the food on the table on the ward bed.

He smiled and rolled himself over in his wheelchair with one hand. His chubby son was staring at him in a dazed manner, looking at him as if he were a stranger, as if he couldn’t recognize this father of his.

Cen Mo shook his head. “It has been so long since you saw your papa, aren’t you excited at all?”

Song Yao laughed upon seeing the way Cen Mo was staring at the baby. “The cheek of you to say this! Who was the one who left without a word and got himself injured, giving the child and me a fright? If it were up to me… our son wouldn’t acknowledge you as his father!”

Seeing Song Yao glower at him with her beautiful eyes, Cen Mo quickly smiled to butter her up. “This is the last time!”

Song Yao sat down by Cen Mo’s bedside with the baby in her arms. “I’ve never objected to you doing something you want to do. But the next time… if it’s something that’s going to get you injured or put your life at risk, I hope that you can spare more thought for our son and me, okay?”
