"What do you think about reporting her father to DSWD?" bulong ko. "Don't you think it is criminal to leave her daughter defenseless like that?"

Umarko ang kilay niya. "She's safe enough."

"No, she's not," tanggi ko and I didn't flinch from the stare she gave me.

Kumunot ang noo niya. "She's young but I guess, if you really want to The House can make an exemption. Though, I don't think your father will be happy about it. And Fyeda might or might not be happy, too. He developed a fascination towards that beautiful child. Then, there's her father. Victor might look like a rabbit but that's his only child and he seems to be attached to her. He'll fight us like a demon. Fathers like that usually will."

Ako naman ang napatitig sa kanya at napakunot-noo. "What are you going on about, Tita?"

"Don't you want to have her?" naguguluhan niyang tanong. "The House could buy her for you, I guess—"

"What?! No!" I am absolutely horrified. "Tita, anong klaseng tanong 'yan? She's thirteen, for fuck's sake!"

"So you don't want her?"

"No. I mean, yes. Depuga, Tita! Quit fucking with my mind!"

Ngumisi lang siya. "I'm just teasing you, darling." Inabot niya ang pisngi ko at magiliw na tinapik-tapik iyon. I am still looking at her like she grew two heads.

"You really decided to wait?" Her smile is so sweet and gentle before it turned wicked with glee. "Great plan, little vor. Anticipation heightens the pleasure."

"Oh, my God, Tita! Shut up." I couldn't help but growl at her. "It's not like that!"

"Yet," she clarified. "Someone has to take the time to teach her so she could take you. We both know your taste runs a little bit wicked."

Pinagpawisan ako ng malamig sa sinabi niya. I wanted to refuse her but that would be a lie.

"Nobody is touching her."

"Else. Nobody else is touching her. Kulang ang sentence mo. No need to bristle like that. When I said someone, I meant you."

"I don't want to talk about this anymore, Tita." I took a step back away from her so her palm would drop from my face.

"As you wish, Cole Valentine. I will always be here for you if you need anything especially for your kiska."

"Never call her that again in my presence."

Tita Leine might be a head taller than I am right now but I'm bulkier. And I play defense. I can tackle her to the ground if I need to. She'll paralyze me with one of her poisoned hair clips before I could damage her further, sure, but the feeling of knocking the breath out of her lungs sounds so satisfying.

She blinked at me and smiled brightly. "Done," mabilis niyang pagsang-ayon. "One of these days, I will ask Victor to bring his baby at the Annex for some tutoring in Russian."

"Tita," I gritted out but she ignored me. She turned away and walked out as if nothing happened.

"Shit!" pagmumura ko sabay tampal ng palad ko sa top rail ng balcony.

It should have hurt but I'm too irritated to care. Why are people barging into my business?

I felt a presence behind me. "You've eavesdropped. Again."

"There's always interesting conversation around you." Theo stepped out of the shadows and joined me to lean over the rails.

Napabuga ako ng hangin sa inis. "You heard everything." It was a statement rather than a question.
