"today is the day I've been waiting for!"

Junior year was finally over. It was good to know that I was waking up the next morning on my first day of summer vacation. I couldn't believe I made it through the stressful year. But I'm glad I did. Now I can focus on what I've been waiting for ...

"GABRIELLA!!!!!!!"

What could she want now. (Steps put of her room and stands at the top of the steps)

Mom: you know we have to be out of here by 12. so make sure you are packed and everything.

Gabby : kay mom.

I walk back into my room and begin to start packing away clothes into the empty suitcase on the side of my bed. It's a big purple one, since I'll be away for 4 weeks. Oh yea, I'm leaving for a program called VIEW which prepares young teenage girls for college. This is what I've been referring to as "can't wait for". Of course the work is helpful. , but I can't help but think about all the fun I'm going to have with my friends.

"zzz zzzz zzzz"

I hear and feel the vibrations of my phone on my bed. I begin to shuffle around the pillows and sheets to find it.

"Got it !"

It's a text from one of my best friends who is also in the program. It reads ....

"HAYYY GURRRLLLL ...you ready to get ratchet this summer ?!?!?!"

I can't help but laugh. I respond with...

"I think I'm going to actually try to learn this summer, since its our last lol"

Ciera : "bahwaahahahaa liessss, you know that we always stay off task"

Gabriella: "whatever , imma try my best. I wanna know who my roommate is so bad!!!"

Ciera: "me too but you'll find out once you get here , see you in a few hours".

Our conversation ends and I continue packing my bag. As I do so, I can't help but think back on all the memories I've had on the campus with the other girls. As much as we annoy each other, we care about each other.

* 2 hours later

Mom : (standing in the doorway) wow. You pack fast. Ready to go??

Gabriella: uhmm yea, let me just change real quick.

My mom leaves my room and I take a quick shower, freshen up and put on some clothes : shorts and a tee to be specific. With some black chucks. I leave my hair out in its curly locks hat cascade down my back.

Mom: LETSSSS GOO!! (Shouting from the front door downstairs)

I grab everything that I possibly could. My bed sheets, toiletries, suitcase, duffle bag. Laptop and my backpack loaded with school supplies. It looked like I was leaving my house for good, seeing that my room looked bare ! I slowly took my things downstairs dropping things here and there. Then ruining back up to get them. Mom helped me one i got to the front door. She took the stuff Into the car as I said goodbye to dad who was watching football. Within 10 Minutes, we were on our way to my new temporary home.
