"But what if he's red-handed because his hands are covered in the blood of the person that he just stabbed to death?" Stiles asked his best friend.

"Stiles," Ayla scolded.

"What? Have you forgotten that the person being stabbed to death could be any of the three of you?" Stiles wondered, gesturing between the werewolves and kitsune.

"Or Liam," Scott realized. Ayla turned towards him, both frowning at the thought of something bad happening to the new beta. If they were being honest, they were both far more concerned with his safety than their own. "We don't have the whole list and he could be on it."

"We don't know anything about the list. How it's made, how it's updated," Stiles reminded. "I mean, who's been out there taking a supernatural census anyway?"

"How do they even know about me?" Kira wondered.

"They know about everyone," Scott told her.

Ayla frowned. She knew that supernaturals could usually pick each other out of a crowd in some way. Whether it was sensing that another werewolf was nearby or seeing a kitsune's aura. But she didn't know how someone would be able to pick out this many.

Stiles sighed. "I think Kira's right. I think we should stop the game," he told them.

"I agree," Piper put in. Ayla didn't say anything, trying to decide what the best choice was here.

"I'm not afraid," Scott told the two humans.

Kira looked at the alpha, before nodding. "Neither am I," she said.

"Well, I'm terrified and I'm not even on the list," Stiles snapped at them.

"You both realize that this isn't some angry alpha or spirit this time, right? We're facing professional killers this time," Piper added.

"They're right," Ayla told her boyfriend. He sent her a look, having expected her to agree with him this time. "I'm not scared either, okay? We survived everything else; we'll survive this. But we know how to fight back. Our names aren't the only ones on this list, Scott. Like you said, Liam could be on it, Malia, and we don't know who else."

"Thank you!" Stiles exclaimed.

Ayla then sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. "But let's be honest, our opinion doesn't even matter, because Coach will never let this game get cancelled," she told them.

Stiles and Piper glanced at each other. "That's true too," Piper muttered.

As suspected, the game had not been cancelled by the end of the day. Davenport Prep arrived just on schedule. The two werewolves and Stiles had made their way outside now that classes were over for the day. They walked out in time to see Liam storming over to one of the boys from his old school.

"Brett!" he yelled. He stopped just in front of the other boy, and all three watched him in worry. "I just wanted to say... have a good game." Liam held out his hand, but Brett and all the other guys from his team laughed in the werewolf's face.

"That's cute, Liam. Is that what they told you to say in Anger Management? Apologize and everything's fine?" Brett asked him. "You demolished Coach's car."
