Howl X Reader Fluff

no spell check so yeah its 2am and im supposed to be sleep

You noticed how Howl was almost never free from his work always running around from this place to that place, you never saw him in the house half the time. By the time you'd wake up he left. And with all that working went to Howl not taking care of himself and it was very noticeable, his hair started getting longer from not being cut and there were clearly visible eye bags. It made you worry for your partner even if he would reassure you he was fine and he didn't need you to worry you knew that he was lying just so you wont get stressed. You were gonna have to put your foot down and take care of Howl even if he didn't want you to.

It was late at night and you were cooking something to eat when you heard the door open you turned to see who it was even though you already knew, it was a very tired Howl. "Hey hun." You said greeting him as you continued to cook, Howl didn't respond but put his things down and went straight upstairs to his room. You frowned slightly taking the pan off Calcifer  and went upstairs to Howls room. Knocking on the door softly three times to let him know you were coming in before you opened the door seeing him head deep in the pillow still in his outside clothes. You gave Howl a small nudge on the shoulder to wake him, he let out a long groan signaling he was awake and listening. "Come on you need to get up and out of these clothes" You demanding softly tugging on the dirty white fabric that was hugging Howls body. Howl let out a whiny "no" which was muffled by the pillow. You rolled you eyes knowing you had to force this man up. You grabbed him by his arm and flipped him over tugging him up as well. "You look like a mess hun" You said moving the hair out of his face "Ill be back but you have to get out of these clothes you hear?" Howl nodded not wanting to put up a fight right now.

You walked out the room and into the bathroom grabbing a hairbrush and some scissors, going back to the room and smiling as you saw that Howl listened to you and was out of his clothes wearing a white night gown. You sat on the bed placing the things in your hand on the bed and patting a spot infront of you for Howl can sit, feeling him move around to the spot sitting up. You took the hairbrush and started brushing his hair taking your time with it, brushing all the knots in his hair and just going through it getting everything out just taking care of him like he needed to be. Humming softly you wanted to make small talk but Howl seemed to be tired so you just stayed quite. You felt Howl leaning into your brushstrokes to the point where he was almost leaning on your shoulder, you chuckled putting the brush down and letting Howl lean back into you. He made his way onto your lap curling up and resting. You smiled always loving the small moments like this and happy that he was finally gonna get some type of sleep, you started to play with his hair as e started to fall asleep. 

You heard snoring and leaned your head down to see howl sleeping, you kissed his head and said goodnight to him and went to sleep yourself
