Ch. 10 De-Void

"She kind of already has an idea," Lydia said. Ayla sent her a confused look. "It's Malia."

The way Ayla had seen Malia in her visions suddenly made perfect sense to the seer. She had felt some odd connection to the werecoyote from the beginning. Which was no surprise now that she knew that they were related.

"Lyds, her life has been messed up enough. She doesn't need any of us making it worse," Ayla reminded.

The strawberry blonde nodded. "I know. But what about Stiles?"

The former alpha arrived at the house only a few minutes after the two finished talking. He walked around the couch, looking at the nogitsune. "He doesn't look like he would survive a slap across the face, much less the bite of a werewolf," Peter told them.

"You don't think it would work?" Scott asked.

"This is more of a war of the mind than the body. There are better methods to winning this battle," Peter told him.

"What kind of methods?" Deaton wondered.

Peter grabbed Scott's wrist, forcing the alpha's claws out. "We're going to get into his head," he told them.

They all stepped out of the living room to talk away from the nogitsune for a moment. She was trying to hide it, but Lydia was also just trying to talk away from Scott. She didn't want to have to explain to him how she was using Peter's daughter as blackmail against him. Of course, there was the fact that neither her or Ayla even liked the idea of telling him who Malia was. Both were sure that the girl was perfectly fine without him barging into her life. The thing was that they were both too concerned with saving Stiles to care right now.

"So, do we have a plan?" Deaton asked as they all came back into the room.

"Scott is going to try and dig through pale and sickly, evil Stiles' mind to unearth pale and sickly, real Stiles. Then guide him back from the depths of his own subconscious. But he's not going to do it alone," Peter told them.

"What do you mean?" Scott asked.

Peter slowly turned to face Lydia. "Somebody needs to go in with you," he explained. The strawberry blonde looked at him in surprise as she realized what that meant.

How had Piper of all people been added to the werewolf rescue squad? Allison had called Kira to request backup, and given that Piper was with the kitsune, she was dragged along as well. Apparently, the huntress had woken up to find herself chained to her bed by an unusually homicidal Isaac.

Which left the three girls to rush to the high school to try to keep him from murdering the twins and vice versa. At least till they could figure out why they all wanted to murder each other.

The twins were already on the ground when they got there, and Isaac was in Coach's office. He lit the cloth hanging out of the bottle of alcohol in his hands, getting everything ready to set the twins on fire. He then walked out of the office, and Kira quickly cut the flaming cloth away from the bottle with her mother's katana.

Isaac looked at her in surprise. "Nice sword," he said, dropping the bottle onto the ground. He moved towards the kitsune, making her back away.
