The others moved to the kitchen to talk away from the nogitsune, but Ayla stayed in the living room with Melissa.
"You know, for someone with super healing, you actually have a decent amount of medical knowledge," Melissa told the teenager as they finished bandaging the large gash across Stiles' abdomen.
Ayla shrugged. "I've kinda been thinking I would be a nurse. It's not like I'm squeamish at this point," she explained.
Melissa nodded. "Fair," she said. She glanced at the teenager.
"What?" Ayla wondered.
"You wouldn't know why my son didn't come home last night, would you?" Melissa asked.
Ayla felt her face redden slightly. She stood up as she began gathering up the bandages. "He was at the loft," she admitted.
"Kind of figured," Melissa told her, sending the teenager a look.
"We were trying to find him," Ayla told her, gesturing to Stiles.
"Uh huh," Melissa said with an amused smile.
Ayla just rolled her eyes at the woman and made her way into the kitchen.
The vet, banshee and alpha were arguing over what to do. Lydia was on the side of just turning Stiles, but Scott was scared that in the end it would only do more harm than good. Whatever they were going to do, they were running out of time to do it.
"I can try calling Derek again," Scott was saying.
"Don't bother. He won't answer," Ayla told him as she walked into the kitchen. She put the bandages back in the first aid kit, before turning to them. "I'm starting to get worried. He usually at least mentions that he's working on something, but he wasn't even there when we woke up this morning," she told him.
Scott frowned, knowing she had a point. "When you two woke up this morning?" Lydia asked, noticing the way Ayla had worded that.
Scott just turned to the she-wolf, who gave her best friend a look. "So not the time, Lyds," she reminded.
Lydia just gave her a look that said that there would be a time. She got back on topic, though. "Maybe we should call someone else, but if we do, I need to tell you something," she told Ayla. The Hale frowned, not sure what this could be about.

The two girls stepped outside of the house to talk alone. "What's going on?" Ayla asked her best friend.
Lydia sighed. "I went to Peter for help a few days ago," she admitted.
"Why the hell would you do that?" Ayla wondered.
"I was desperate. But he of course wanted something in return. Apparently Talia took a memory from him before she died," Lydia told her.
Ayla frowned. "And?" she inquired.
"And he has a daughter," Lydia explained.
Ayla looked at her best friend, suddenly realizing what this was about. Peter would help them, just as long as Lydia could tell him whoever the girl was. "No. Whoever she is, she's much better off being totally unaware of the mess that is my family," Ayla told her.
