“Okay! Amen! We get it. We get it. I should’ve known to not ask you to pray. Let’s eat.” Yolanda said

They passed the food around making sure everyone got what they wanted. Once they did, the begin eating and sharing conversation.

“Mom when is your friend coming over? I’m ready to meet him.” Karen asked her mom

“Auntie Val got a boyfriend!? Doe asked after she recovered from choking on her food

“Why wasn’t he ran by us first?” Jacky and Tam asked

“Because I just told Karen about him the other night. Besides I wasn’t ready for him to meet the Set It Off crew just yet.” Valerie replied

“Okay, well how long have you been dating. Does he have a job? Any children? Crazy exes/baby mamas?” Jacky, Doe, and Tam asked

“What is this, First 48?” Valerie asked

“Well, we need to know. Just in case we have to take action.” Tam said

“Y’know shank a nigga.com.” Doe said

“Dorinda Grace!” Val said

Cheryl couldn’t help but laugh because Doe got it honest.

“Cheryl, it’s not funny.” Val said

“It is funny. These girls are very protective of us as their moms so you can’t help it.”

*Cassandra’s cell goes off*

“That’s my brother. He’s parking the car now.” Cassandra said

“Okay, and we’re right here to support you. Cheryl said

*doorbell rings*

“I’ll be right back.” Cassandra said going to answer the door

“Tam are you excited about seeing your uncle?” Yolanda asked

“Somewhat. I haven’t seen him since I was 7.” Tam replied

Cassandra walked back in the dining area and introduced her brother to everyone

“Everyone, I would like you to meet my baby brother Eric and his wife--"

“Mrs. Dawns?” The girls said

“Hi girls. This is a pleasant surprise.” Angela replied

Everyone but Valerie and Cheryl introduced themselves. Valerie couldn’t believe that the man that she has been seeing for over a year is a married man. Not only that, but he is married to her daughter’s teacher. She couldn’t hide her expression and she wasn’t trying too.
