The group dangled from thick branches, tied to them with rope. The Ewoks had decided that they would be the main banquet in a celebration for C3PO.
"You know, I've always thought about death, and how I'd die," Greyson started. Luke looked over at her. "But it was never this pathetic."
"You're not going to die. I have a plan." Luke insisted.
"Master Skywalker saves the day with his plans, per usual." Greyson said in a theatrical voice. Luke coughed and wiggled awkwardly.
"Leia!" Luke said.
"Leia." Han echoed.
Greyson followed the boys' eyes to where Leia was standing with a small group of Ewoks. "Leia!" She looks great with her hair down, wow. Was the first thing that came to Greyson's mind. Typical.
"But these are my friends!" Leia turned to the droid sitting on a makeshift throne. "Tell them they must be set free, C3PO!"
The Ewoks continued to place wood beneath the group though.
"3PO, tell them that if they don't stop, you'll become angry and use your magic." Luke proposed.
"But, Master Luke, what magic? I couldn't possibly."
Greyson snorted and Luke looked at her.
"Stop laughing." He said sternly.
Greyson's eyes went wide momentarily at the tone of his voice. "Yes sir." She muttered.
"Just tell them." Luke insisted. C3PO obeyed and turned to the Ewoks, who spoke amongst themselves for a few moments, then carried on.
"You see, Master Luke, they didn't believe me."
C3Po began to float and the Ewoks cried out in surprised running in all directions. Greyson tried not to laugh and turned to look at Luke who had his eyes closed. The Force came so easily to him, Greyson couldn't help but feel a little jealous. No amount a training would let her anywhere near his level of skill. It seemed unfair. It seemed unfair how he managed to be better than her in every way, at things she'd been at longer than he had. She supposed he was a quick learner. Greyson turned back to watch the gold droid spin around in the air.
The Ewoks came to release them out of fear. The moment he was released, Han ran to Leia, spinning her around. Greyson admired them, and the fact that they weren't afraid to be together, despite everything going on around them. She along with Luke joined the couple, each giving Leia a tight hug.
They were gathered around a small fire, watching as C3PO told the Ewoks stories from the past few years. It was a short moment of peace inside the chaos. Leia was leaned up against Han, who also had an Ewok attached to his leg. Greyson smiled as Luke pulled her against him, wrapping an arm across her shoulders and placing his head in the crook of her neck. Greyson took Luke's other hand and fiddled with his fingers.
"What are you thinking about so hard?" Luke asked softly. "You're all tense."
"This can't last forever and I wish it could." Greyson stated sadly.
"What do you mean?" Luke placing a kiss on Greyson's shoulder.
"This. This temporary peace. Where we're not fighting for our lives, or mourning someone's death. We just get to exist, with no worries, no fears. I don't have to worry about you being taken from me. I know it's not possible but I wish we could stay here forever just frozen in time."
Luke spun Greyson around to face him. "It'll be okay, I promise. And you don't have to worry about me, I'm always gonna look after you, I won't let anything stop me." He assured her, brushing hair away from her face.
Greyson placed her forehead against Luke's. Luke kissed the tip of her nose, before pulling away and slipping out the archway, leaving Greyson standing there cold without his presence.
