Diana's POV
"Diana, eat at this instant," Sebastian ordered me across the table.
With slight hesitance, I picked up my spoon and took a bite of the pie. In the mansion, we refer to this as Monday pie.
Sebastian reached for his phone and, for the first time in months, smiled.
If you're wondering, I have been living in ROLETTO, Sebastian's kingdom. Later, my home school teacher informed me that he is a very powerful king, one of the most feared, and has taken hundreds of lives. If you were to hear his story, you might think he is a brave man, doing things for his kingdom, not realizing it's driven by his own selfish interests.

I despise the man. He has been exceedingly wicked to me. I believe he wants to poison my mind to be like his, so I'll rule his kingdom, as he keeps saying that one day, when I rule, I'll understand all he's been teaching. He's strange , so I'm as lost as you are.
I still don't know his history with my family or why he killed my mother, and no one wants to tell me. It was immensely difficult at first; I was traumatized for the initial year, with nightmares haunting me every night.
Images of my mother's lifeless body in a pool of blood still haunt me. No one wants to witness their mother being killed, especially not before their very eyes. After my father handed me over to Sebastian, I was forcibly taken away in a vehicle, and there was no one outside to even say goodbye.
The last time I saw my family was in that hall.
Recovery from the ordeal was arduous. It was challenging to eat at first. Sebastian appointed a personal maid for me; her name is Ruth. Ruth was in her early twenties, and now, thirteen years later, she's older and acts as a mother figure to me.
She helped me get back on my feet. It took years of effort, but I managed to find some semblance of happiness.
I haven't heard from my family. Not a single word, phone call, or letter. At first, I used to wait at the mansion gates to receive something, anything.
