CHAPTER TEN

Aiden's POV
I was now in my human form. She was now backed up against a tree. Fear was plastered across her face. It was the way she looked at me, like I was a beast, a foul creature, like I was heartless, but she didn't understand.

There was sadness in her eyes, then all of a sudden, there was anger.

Why the fuck did you kill him? He did nothing to you. You deserve to rot in hell you fucking murderer! And if you fucking call me yours again, I swear to God I will...

She suddenly stopped. She placed her hand on her heart, more like grabbed her chest tightly and then she started wincing in pain.
I slowly tried to approach her...

She looked up and shot me a death glare...
Don't you dare take one more fucking step towards me, she panted...

What's wrong with you Tara? Are you ok?

I am fine.
She said before she stepped over the pool of blood the lifeless body was surrounded in and walked towards the car. She turned around, tears were now running down her face and then she looked in my direction.

Fuck you
she said before getting in and driving off.
My wolf winced in pain.

She's gonna reject us, he said.
I felt like he was right. Every word she said had poked assiduously at my heart. I never wanted her to find out like this. But that rouge would have hurt my mate and he had his lips on my girl, he deserved to die. I was gonna get her to understand one way or another. I will get her to love me, I won't give up on my mate.

Tara's POV
Tears streamed down my face as I replayed everything that had just happened a couple minutes ago.

I didn't even want to think about what they transformed into.
The mythical creatures I only read about in story books were in front of me, fighting a death battle.
As the tears streaked down my face, my vision became blurry. I found it hard to breathe. I felt like I was fighting to catch little bubbles of oxygen floating around me. I reached for my asthma pump in the front cabinet of the car. Only to realize that this isn't my car.

I changed roads and made my way to the hospital. As I was about to overtake the driver that was driving sluggishly in front of me, a car came out of nowhere and slammed into my...well Max's car. I felt as the pain assiduously engulfed my back and my side and...

"stay with us please" was what I kept on hearing as we burst through the hospital doors. My eyes were constantly closing, I wanted to keep them open, I wanted to "stay with them" as they asked me to do but I couldn't. It felt like heavy chains were pressing down on my eyelids, it was almost inevitable to keep them open until I heard someone call my name. I knew that sweet, melodious voice. It was my mom.
I reach up to take off the mask to greet my mom... Worst mistake ever. A pain struck me in my back causing me to wince in pain.
"its ok baby. Mommy is here. Stay put".
Her words were so comforting. I felt like everything was gonna be ok.
I felt like a lost lion cub that has now heard her mother's roar.
They were now ready to transfer me to one of those bed things...
The movement had me crying and hollering. It was so painful.

Hours had now passed and I was laying in bed with my entire family surrounding me.

Talk about uncomfortable.

The nurses and doctors were running a series of tests to check if I had injured my spine.

The doctor entered the room for the second time.

"Good...night" he said trying to read what time of day it was.

We all chuckled at his facial expression.

"Great news. There has been no injury to your spine, just a few bruised ribs nothing to be worried about. You will be able to leave by tonight. The nurse will give you a few pain medication, for the pain of coarse" he said joyfully.
"Thank doctor Miller" my dad said firmly shaking his hand.

I removed the oxygen mask from my face and I was ready to be home. Where I could lay comfortably and try to forget the events that occurred today.
