Ch. 3 Galvanize

The cops had cleared the building, but Lydia could still hear flies buzzing. They sent Allison home to look through the bestiary for a supernatural explanation as to why Barrow saw people with glowing eyes and had flies coming out of him.

Melissa came by and dropped off something of Barrow's so that the werewolves could track him. Scott and Isaac went looking for him, while Ayla chose to go with the twins. Given that no one trusted the two former alphas, she figured she might as well keep an eye on them.

The three made their way through the basement as they searched for the man. "You got something?" Aidan asked as he saw his brother stop around a corner. Both him and Ayla walked over to Ethan and he held up a hand to stop them. He suddenly rushed around the corner and the two of them followed. The three found Danny making out with another student. Both looked up at the three werewolves in surprise.

Aidan bust out laughing, while Ayla just rolled her eyes. Of course, Ethan would be tracking his ex and not the actual serial killer. "Oh, really?" the omega asked as Danny stood there silently.

Both the twins walked off and Ayla sent Danny a look as she took in the guy he was with. "That's a step down," she said. Danny sent her a look and she walked off to find the twins.

Piper rarely spent time in the library, but she was now making her way past the shelves as she looked for Kira. She had seen the other girl come in here, and had decided to follow after. Did this qualify as stalking? She didn't want to know.

She was hoping that she might actually get enough courage to do as Ayla had advised and just ask the other girl out. She finally spotted Kira sitting against one of the shelves reading. She glanced up as she saw someone move beside her, and smiled when she realized it was only Piper. The brunette gave her a wave, and came over to sit beside her.

"Uh, I was just gonna say thanks again for the Bardo research," Piper told her, not wanting to admit that she had actually just followed the girl in here to ask her out.

"Oh, it wasn't a big deal," Kira told her.

"Yeah, it was. In my experience, people aren't the most helpful," Piper admitted. She took a deep breath. "I also thought I could ask-"

She was interrupted by the sound of the fire alarm blaring. "Oh, uh, I guess we should go," Kira told her.

Piper nodded, sighing. "Guess so," she muttered.

All of the other teenagers eventually met up outside after the fire alarm went off.

"We didn't find anything," Adian informed the others.

"Not even a scent," Scott agreed.

"It's three o'clock, so school's over. If there was a bomb, wouldn't he have set it off by now?" Stiles asked the others.

"Does that mean everybody's safe?" Ethan wondered.

"Or does it mean he has another plan?" Ayla asked.

"I don't know," Lydia admitted, shaking her head. "I just... I don't know."
