Chapter Fourteen

In the hospital
Ty's eyes flutter open seeing Jody, Dean, Amy and Lily.
"Where is Cassidy?" Asked Ty, confused.
"Wow, not even hello," Said Jody, jokingly.
"If you knew your son a little bit better you would know to answer the question first and then make the joke," Said Amy smiling.
"You mean my son," Said Lily angrily.
"No, She means my son you know the one you stole from me," Said Jody, angrily.
"Okay I know this is a hot-button topic for you two but for right now can we just say the jury is still out on that one?" Asked Amy trying to keep the peace
"Okay fine" said Lily, reluctantly.
"Thank you," said Amy, smiling and turning to Ty.
"Cassidy is just in the hallway," said Amy.
"I need to see her," said Ty.
"Okay she's out in the waiting room with Dean I'll go get her," said Jody.

In the waiting room
Cassidy walks into the waiting room.
"Cassidy Ty wants to see you," said Jody.
"Oh he's awake awesome!" Said Cassidy smiling.
She happily skipped off to Ty's room.
"We have to tell him," Said Dean
"And we will just not right now I mean the poor boy just got kidnapped," Said Jody.

Back in Ty's room
"Hey sunshine," Said Ty smiling.
"Hey, did you defeat the demon like Dean? Cause I know you and Amy are happy," Asked Cassidy in a bubbly tone.
"We'll I'm still here so I think it's safe to say I just defeated the demon," said Ty smiling .
"That sounds like something Dean would say he's pretty badass just like you," said Cassidy smiling.
"I wouldn't say I am badass," said Ty.
"Ohh he's badass, yeah we're all good," Said Amy with smile.
"That's because you have true love!" Said Cassidy, happily.
"Hey Cass why don't you and Mom go for a walk I think I saw some Smarties in the vending machine," said Dean.
"I can take her," Amy offered.
"Oh no you have to do that I can take her," said Jody.
"it's no trouble at all," Amy smiling.
"If you're sure," said Jody, unsure.
"I am come on Cassidy let's go get some Smarties," Said Amy smiling.
"Smarties!" Yelled Cassidy excitedly.
"I'll come with you," said Lily.
"We have something to tell you," said Jody after Cassidy was out of earshot.
"What's up?" Asked Ty.
"It's about Cassidy," said Dean.
"What about her?" Asked Ty.
"She's developmentally delayed," said Jody, nervously.
"Yeah I kind of assumed something like that when we hung out that night," Said Ty.
"Listen, all we're saying is you don't have to do this if you don't want to do," said Jody.
"Are you saying I shouldn't build a relationship with Cassidy just because she has developmental delay?" Asked Ty.
"No we're not saying that not at all we just I don't want there to be any pressure especially after what happened," said Jody.
"You think I'm going to abandon her don't you?" Asked Ty angrily.
"Nobody said anything about anyone abandoning anyone," said Dean.
"Can both of you please just leave me alone for a while? Asked Ty
"Okay honey," said Jody.
Jody and Dean walk out of the room sadly.

5 minutes later
Cassidy came back to Ty's room
"Hey sunshine, did you get your Smarties?" Asked Ty, smiling.
Cassidy smiled and held up the box.
"Come here I here I want some smarties too!" said Ty smiling.
"I'm surprised you're still talking to me," said Cassidy sadly.
"Oh sunshine, why wouldn't I?" Asked Ty softly.
"Come on I know Mom and Dad told you how stupid I am," said Cassidy.
"You're not stupid sunshine,"said Ty, reassuringly.
"Do you really believe that?" Asked Cassidy.
"Of course if you weren't smart how would you know that horror movies cause nightmares," Said Ty, softly.
"Do you really think I'm smart?" Asked Cassidy smiling.
"I Think You're Perfect Just the Way You are," said Ty smiling.
