"They've been in there for quite some time, do you think?" Ethan couldn't help but ask. Everyone glanced at him, then back to the house. "I mean, it's been at least three minutes, yeah? He said five... so."

Hugo scratched his head, "We still got two minutes."

"Yeah..."

Timon scurried around, checking his watch constantly. There still was no sign of Jess. He'd check everywhere on the first floor over and over again, praying to avoid what was lurking on the second floor. Looking over the bar, behind the counters, and in the back room for the third time over. Squatting down to the ground, he covered his face. "Damn it!" Slamming is fist on the ground, his body shriveled, "...I'm so scared..."

Creeping around up there was a creature that was even more threatening than the others. It was smarter, more capable of speech, and manipulative. It moved with strategy, and it was alone wandering around with Jess.

"Jess?" He called out, hopelessly getting to the top of the stairs. "Jess, can you hear me?" He tried not to yell so loud in fear that he could be caught himself. Taking a right, he started searching the rooms. When he got to each door, he made sure to turn the door knob slowly, and crack the door to peak inside.

The first couple of rooms showed no sign of anyone, still looking like how they left them.
Then, came the TV room.

"I-I can't..." He told himself, slowly inching toward the chipped door. Seeing it again made his blood freeze, a numb sensation waving over him. As he got closer, the sound of the TV going echoed louder through the hall. "Jess?" He called out quietly, mostly to remind himself of who he was here for. Standing in front of the door, he could picture the creature inside reciting lines from old movies. It's scratched voice and crooked teeth mimicking whoever it wanted.

Timon pressed his ear to the door.

"That's a foolish thing to think. I love you more than the moon!" The woman on the TV laughed, but nothing followed behind. So, with a prayer for life, he squeezed the knob, and turned.

He peeked through the crack and looked around. No one. Nothing.

Sighing heavily, he let his heart beat through his eardrums. A smile graced his lips even if he still wasn't in the clear. Checking the last room, he headed back to the center area. He looked down at his watch.

Two minutes left.

He still needed to check the left side of the building. Luckily there were only three rooms over there. With a huff he walked to the first door. Timon felt a little invincible after that, but fear still held him close. Cracking the door, he saw no one.

"Onto door number two." He muttered. Looking through, there wasn't anyone in there. Standing in front of the final door, he looked over his shoulder. The house felt cold and silent. He'd looked everywhere and there was no sign of Jess or the monster. What if... it took Jess to the next house? He couldn't help but think. Shaking his head, he put a hand on what was the coldest handle out of all of them.

Turning ever so slowly, he looked through.
Crazed red hair falling down to her shoulder, freckles adorned her shocked face. Deep, dark blood was splotched all over her body. Her hands and wrists were covered in it too.

In the spur of the moment, Timon's heart fluttered as he opened the door fully to greet her. But after seeing her condition, his expression quickly sank. "Jess... what happened to you? Where did all this blood come from...!?"

"Eli." Her voice was soft, yet dry and unstable. Like a switch, her face churned with fear. "I-I... it attacked me a-and I ran, and I cut me but I managed to stab it with a knife I found in the heat I-I think... And it... it..!" Her breathing became rapid and uneven, and she eventually collapsed to the ground, her hands close to her chest.
