Epilogue

The Last Song:

See You Again - Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth

The windows were opened and the sun was shining at its brightest. Soft breezes made its way into the house, causing papers to create noises and making the flames on candles dance.

Brooklyn sat up against the light blue painted wall, a photo album resting on her thighs. She played with the corner of it before letting her fingers open up to the first page where two photos were held in the clear pockets.

The first photo was a Polaroid picture of her and Justin laying in bed together, the both of them making a funny face. The second photo was taken the same night minutes after the first one. It was a rather blurry picture only because they were both rolling off of the bed and onto the floor.

She flipped the page and heard the crinkle of dried rose petals and stared at them. Why did she keep the petals, she doesn't know, but she frowned and wiped her eyes before turning to the next page. She ended up staring down at her favorite photo of Justin. A smile was plastered on his face in the picture and soon enough, a smile crept onto her own face.

She skipped a few empty pages before landing on a page that had a torn photo in a clear pocket. She removed the picture and held both halves in her hands. She put them together and smiled once again. It was a picture of her holding a blue balloon looking up at the semi-dark sky. The photo was taken by Justin while he sat on the ground during a small picnic that they had.

She soon closed the album and wiped the tears off of her cheeks. She came to her senses and realized that she wasn't going to be able to go on dates with Justin or spend time with him anymore. She couldn't help but cry more at the thought.

She was a lonely, young woman in her mid-twenties who lived in a small house by herself. She was afraid to fall in love again but she was sure that Justin would want her to move on from him, after all, it's been years since his suicide. But she couldn't bring herself to do it and she prayed everyday for assistance but nothing was happening, or at least that's what she thought.

She decided not to loath anymore and decided to go grab a cup or two of coffee at the Starbucks down the street. She walked inside the little coffee shop and got herself a hot coffee. She then sat at a table by herself next to a window and looked at the people walking by outside. She was enjoying the view until she was interrupted by a young man, perhaps around her age.

"I couldn't help but notice you sitting here by yourself. Do you mind if I take a seat?"

"Of course not."

The man took a seat across from her and placed his coffee on the table. She looked at his cup and took notice of the name written on there: "Justin." She then looked up at him and studied his features while he looked out of the window. He had golden brown hair that was very similar to Justin's and his eyes were the same caramel brown color. He had a little stubble growing. His lips were the same pink hue as Justin, except a bit thinner.

The man turned to her and sent her a warm smile before asking her for her name.

"Brooklyn," she replied.

"Beautiful name. I'm Justin."

She smiled and locked her fingers around her half empty cup. They talked for a bit before Justin checked his watch and frowned.

"Hey, I have to go. It was nice meeting you, Brooklyn."

"And it was a pleasure meeting you."

"Can I have your phone number, you know, just in case we want to go grab some coffee together?"

"Of course."

So she put her phone number into Justin's phone and he did the same to her phone. He then walked off after saying a final goodbye and Brooklyn looked outside again, noticing a faded silhouette of her past love leaning against a street lamp. He had wings behind him and he was dressed like he would when he was alive except his clothing was white.

He smiled at her and she smiled back, mouthing an "I miss you" to him and he mouthed it back, adding a quick "I love you" before disappearing.

For the first time in forever, she felt happy because she knew that Justin would always be with her and she was so thankful for that.
