We Promised.... But What Happened?

"Hi ladies. I see we had the idea." She said holding her milkshake

"Hi Mrs. Dawns." Karen, Jacky and Tam said

Mrs. Dawns noticed Dorinda hiding behind Karen

"Hi Dorinda. How are you?"

Karen pinched Doe and made her sit up

"Hi Mrs. Dawns. I'm doing okay."

Mrs. Dawns noticed Doe's behavior and decided to ignore it until tomorrow

"Well, I'll leave you ladies to enjoy your snack and I will see you tomorrow morning. Have a good day." She walked away

"She's a totally different person outside of Room 247A." Jacky said
"Yeah she is and Dorinda Grace sitting here doing childish crap. Get from up under me." Karen said as she pushed Doe off of her

"Look I just didn't want a repeat of this morning. That's all." Doe said

"Well it didn't seem like she was, Doe. I think she was hoping you would speak to her. I definitely don't think she was upset." Tam said

They finished their milkshakes and gathered their things to head home.

"I know school just started, but do you think our parents would be okay with keeping the tradition of our sleep overs?" Karen asked

"I know my mom wouldn't mind." Tam said

"Mine either." Jacky said

"Okay, well since we have a 4 day weekend this week how about we do it at my house then?" Dorinda said

They came to a stop in front of Tam's house

"Sounds like a plan. I'll talk to my mom tonight." Tam said

"So will I." Jacky said

Yes, all of our mothers were single parents. But that didn't stop the train ride. Our mothers worked and had amazing careers. They made sure we had what we needed and didn't want for anything. They also made sure to help each other out when one of ours either had to work late or was exhausted.

"Okay great. See you tomorrow Tam." Doe said as Tam walked up her steps to her door

"Bye guys, love you. See you tomorrow." Tam said

They walked 2 more blocks over to where Jacky lived and made sure she got in safely

"See you later. Love y'all." Jacky said walking inside

Karen and Doe continued walking to Karen's house. It's a good thing all 4 girls lived within 7 minutes of each other and Karen's house wasn't too far cause Dorinda had to pee

"Hurry up Karen, I gotta pee." Doe was doing a dancing trying to hold her bladder

Karen opened the door and Doe took off running to the bathroom. Karen closed the door and locked it.

*3 minutes later*

"Whew. I feel better." Doe said as she came back in the living

"I'm glad you do." Karen looked at her laughing

"It's only 3:30. Wanna watch a movie and take a nap until Goddy and my mom get her?" Doe asked

"That's cool. But get your own blanket and stay on your side of the bed. I don't want your scaly feet scratching my leg." Karen teasingly said

They headed to Doe's room and changed into some lounging clothes

"First off my feet are not scaly. Secondly, you know I have to have my feet resting on somebody in order to fall asleep." Doe said
