What was happening? why couldn't Osiris have explained at least some things to her?

Anuwe's eyes darted across the dark huts made of dirt and straw.

Why was this area so different then the rest of egypt?

an older woman walked past, looking over at Anuwe with a warm gaze.

"Why are you out here in the middle of the night child?"

"I...I'm lost."

She murmured softly, casting her eyes down at the ground.

The old women smiled at her, motioning for her to follow.

Anuwe hesitated for a moment before giving in.

What else could she do?

When she doesn't even know where she is going or even where she should go, can she really go elsewhere?

"Come, sit. Have some tea."

The elder motioned to a small stool next to what looked like a clay oven with a small fire lit within.

It....was quite small within the house.

We're these the huts of the poor?

"Here. Have some tea."

The old woman gave Anuwe a small wooden cup filled with a warm liquid that smelled of Cane sugar and mint.

"Thank you."

The woman smiled sitting down with her own cup.

"So tell me what your doing out so late? How did you get lost now?"

Anuwe sipped her tea, unsure of how to proceed.

"I uh...I don't really know where I am to be honest."

The old woman smiled.

"Are you not native to Egypt?"

"Oh uh....I don't know."

Anuwe answered nervously.

The older woman look over at Anuwe with a keen gaze.

"You've....You've forgotten?"

She questioned.

'I never knew in the first place so there's not much to forget.'

"Hah...Yeah I guess. The only thing I know is my name.

"And...what is your name?

She asked softly.

"A...Anuwe."

She replied, clutching the cup close.

"Ah do you like it?"

The grey-haired woman questioned, smiling warmly.

Anuwe merely nodded.

"I'm glad...I don't have much but I'm happy that I can at least offer you a warm drink."

"Thank you...you don't know me and yet you offered your hospitality."

The woman simply chuckled.

"Oh child, I'm just a lonely old woman. Your doing more for me by coming in to chat. None of my children have the time to visit anymore."

The woman gently set her tea down.

"And I've never seen such beautiful scarlet hair...it looks like the egyptian red poppy."

Anuwe felt her breath hitch.

Then she realized.

A couple locks had escaped while she was running and fell against her cheek.
