I sit on my bed, lemonade in hand and bottom lip in between my teeth. I keep biting it until the familiar warm liquid enters my mouth. The new feeling of warmth has made me its home in just a few short days. I drink it hungrily and use my now bloody teeth to cut deeper. The lemon, sugar, water, and hint of salt, kiss my raw tissues before entering my throat.
The salt and lemon give my mind the justice it needs to keep the thoughts away. A little bit of pain for a whole lot of pleasure. What could go wrong?
