You returned to Mickey who had risen to his feet, pulling and twisting the bike chain that was binding him to the tree.

"Watch out," you warned him, ignoring the sting in your side as you raised the shovel, bringing it down with force directly onto the lock.

It bent somewhat but stayed in tact as the sound of metal hitting metal was the only one you could hear besides your own blood rushing in your ears.

*Clank*

You both whipped around at the same time, peering into the pitch black. "What was that?"

Scrunching your face, you raised the shovel high and brought it down again with even more force, determined to save your friend as the lock cracked and loosened.

As you went for a third attempt, you failed to see the shadow sliding down from the tree branch behind you. The figure moved quickly and gracefully, coming to a stance directly behind you.

Mickey looked up, just in time. "(Y/N), WATCH OUT!"

It was like your heart was ripped out of your chest the instant you heard Mickey's high pitched yell. You turned around and instinctively, swung the shovel at the killer that caught his mid-section, sending him flying.

Mickey went ballistic, pulling and twisting and squirming against his restraints with Ghostface now targetting him.

"Hey!" You called out as distraction before taking off with him hot on your tail.

Sprinting across the yard, you nearly had a stroke when you smacked right into another Ghostface, the two now appearing on either side of you.

Your insides felt like they were being viciously shredded when your eyes darted from one shape to another, and all you could do was stand thunderstruck as the killers cornered you.

Snapping out of your shocked state, you attempted to dive between them but they countered, keeping you surrounded.

One of them took out his weapon while the other already had theirs poised as they slinked closer to you.

Swallowing the parched feeling in your throat, your eyes searched around for an escape, but there wasn't any.

You were petrified, and rightfully so.

Just as you thought you were leaving this yard in a bodybag, Mickey appeared and heavily barreled into one of them, causing them to go sprawl across the grass. "Run, (Y/N)..."

You complied and made your break, zipping straight past them.

Meanwhile, Mickey jumped to his feet with the two killers now circling him like predators just as they did you. You reached the corner of the house but felt your legs freeze and your heart ache.

You couldn't leave him. Especially not after he saved you.

However, just as you turned on your heels, your eyes took in the sight of Mickey being stabbed by both killers at the same time. One blade pierced through his stomach and the other through his back, blood seeping out from both wounds, staining the grass below.

As they withdraw their weapons, his body collapsed to a heap on the ground and you felt like you got kicked in the stomach so hard that you nearly keeled over.

You were struggling with how to register the sudden loss as well as everything that had happened in such a short time, feeling like it had all accumulated to bury you at once.

Your whole face was filled with grief, and there was this lost look in your eyes like you were trying to figure out what to do at the same time that the two killers turned to you.

Choking out a quiet sob, you knew you couldn't do anything for him, so you took off running for your life along the side of the house, through a row of shrubs that lead back to the dark street.

There was a car stopped at a stoplight half a block up with kids inside and rock music blaring.

You yelled so loudly your vocal chords felt as if they were going to tear at any second while your feet rapidly pounded on the pavement.

But just as the light went green, the car took off before you could reach it, its taillights fading into the night, leaving you to find yourself alone in a parking lot with the theatre sitting in the distance.

The images from tonight flashed through your head like a broken record until you sought out a familiar face waltzing into the theatre.

Squinting your eyes, you tried to blink away the blur from them. "Hallie?!"

But she didn't hear you and walked inside. You didn't hesitate and bolted in right behind her, all that kept spinning through your head being you needed to reach her in time.
