after half a year of hiatus, we finally got it doctor who nation,
the series 13 teaser trailer
so, no release date unfortunately, but it said 'later this year' so im assuming sometime in october / november maybe, bc that could set up for a new years special this year (2022) or next year (2023). either way, im pretty sure this is 13s last season? most doctors only go for three seasons or so and chris chibnall will be leaving in 2023 i think, so. the timelines a bit wonky but it just might work.
anyways, i am once again asking for dhawan!master to come back 👉👈 please i loved him. hes my favourite master and every new who master got at least two series and/or a a series and special together. he and 13 had such good chemistry together and theyre my fav master/doctor pair. every scene they have together is iconic. please bring my boy back. i miss him.
in all seriousness, im cautiously optimistic for s13? its going to be weird with Ryan and Graham gone and the new guy, John (stupid name lmao), and i kinda wished they either kept Ryan or Graham (preferably Ryan bc i liked his dynamic with Yaz) or just have Yaz and 13 on their own. however, i will admit it will be an interesting dynamic to see w/ 13 obviously still Not Being Okay, Yaz knowing this and it STILL driving a wedge between them, while John the new guy is just like "wow!! time travel!! so cool!!" while 13 and Yaz are going through a domestic issues
like, during s12? it was Yaz and Ryan and Graham vs 13. now? Yaz is all on her own trying to help her friend while 13 is maintaining their "this is fine *fire sound effect*" mentality and shes gonna feel more alone then ever :(
that got depressing but the point is. i am expecting angst this series and my tiny little gremlin brain is cackling
the point being, bring dhawan!master back. hes the best. literally everything about him is iconic. the outfit? i would cosplay that if i could cosplay at all. his grand reveal at the end of spyfall pt 2? i legit gasped, i loved it. any and every time him and 13 interact in the timeless child? amazing. seriously, the whole "take my hand" "never" exchange at the beginning of the episode is wonderful, then the scene following that one? "look upon my work, doctor, and despair?" / "proud of yourself" "definitely" "all this death finally made you happy?" "ecstatic" then the absolute BANGER of a line from 13 "and has it calmed all the rage" then the masters little pause then "i dont think anything will ever do that". it is a crime that scene isnt up on youtube anywhere
ANYWAYS s13 show me 13 going through angst and the dhawan!master being there. he doesnt even have to do anything. just like jodie whittaker and sacha dhawan alone in a filming set for a few hours im sure they can figure it out.
