XVLI. Draco & Nick

Start from the beginning

"Maybe we should both stay off social media for a while," he suggested. "Karla hasn't called. I am surprised. She will handle it, I suppose."

"She does that?"

"Most of my promotional tweets are from her and she tells me the least controversial things to say sometimes," he told him who looked he believed it but not really at the same time. A moment of silence and Heath spoke again.

"I am supposed to leave tomorrow," he painfully reminded him. "Half the day was okay but it went south in the end."

"You want me to make up to you?" Conan asked, a little surprised by his demand.

"No," he said. "I want to make it up to you."

Conan thought about it for a moment. The mood had sort of been ruined but there was nothing saying that it couldn't be bettered. He could feel a smile spreading across his lips.

"Not by going outside since, you know..." Heath said quickly, probably not wanting him to get ideas. "I don't like people who stare. A movie night or something?"

"But your mom's home," he said. It would be awkward to see her around when they were kissing and stuff and she seemed to jump at the idea of seeing them together.

"That's a down side," he said sadly, wondering of other things they could do. "I don't think she will be that overinvolved now that we have...made things better."

"I mean I am in if you are," Conan said, smiling at his date.

They started watching a movie at five in the evening

They started watching a movie at five in the evening. Snuggling against each other on the couch with popcorn, ice cream and non-alcoholic drinks because they didn't trust themselves drunk around each other . Heath's mom seemed to get the message and did not interrupt them throughout the movie. She would walk in and leave in a few seconds, grabbing something from the fridge. Conan did wonder though why she would need mustard every thirty minutes.

"You have to be kidding when you say you have never watched Love, Simon before," Conan said, glancing at him.

"I am watching it right now," he said an Conan scoffed.

"Nick Robinson is hot," Heath said at some point and Conan acted offended. Well, it did prick a little but there was no denying Nick was hot. Like really really hot.

"You are almost as hot as him," he continued and Conan raised an eyebrow.

"Almost?" he repeated, his voice echoing.

"Okay," he said, "You're hotter than Nick Robinson."

"Thanks for feeding my gigantic ego," Conan whispered on his lips. He leaned against his shoulder.

"No problem," Heath laughed,  resting his head on the side of Conan's hesitantly. "Which one of them is Blue?"

"Are you asking me to spoil you?" Conan whisper-shouted.

"I just can't wait to find out," he whisper-shouted back.

"Just wait," Conan gave his hand a light squeeze.

He almost couldn't believe this was happening right now but it was. It really was. Unless it was a long dream. All his life, he had been a hopeless romantic and single. And now, he wasn't. The wait had been so much worth it. He smiled as Heath laughed at something. He was in love with the boy. It was odd feeling. He felt protective of him yet he didn't mind the jokes he made about Draco Malfoy or Nick Robinson. Maybe they weren't jokes. He really didn't care anyways. The amount of times, he made him smile was worth more than all the times he had spent frowning and wondering why he was single.

"Hey, Cone?" he said suddenly, turning around to face him as Simon shouted at Martin on the screen.

"Yeah?" he said, breaking from his trance.

"Nothing," he said shyly and shaking his head. "Just-Nothing."

"Okay."
