You sob. Everything, all of your progress and hard work, was lost to the netherlands of the digital dimension.
"What's wrong?" someone asks.
"It didn't save," you sniff.
You stare blankly at the screen, searching for the piece of your soul you'd written down in heartwrenching prose. But it's gone for good.
"There, there." The person—a library staff, you think—awkwardly pats your back. "No need to cry."
"It is every reason to cry!" you wail. "Now I know what those kids mean when they don't save their progress on video games!"
You hate to admit it, but there it is.
Wattpad no longer has autosave. If you haven't already, as a fellow writer, I beseech you to first type your draft into a program that autosaves before introducing your precious prose into the fickle orange desert of Wattpad. It shall save hours of agony and post-grief. (I am a fan of Google Docs.)
