"So, you are a gold digger now?"

Damian's cold voice cut through the room.

Few of those sitting at the table gasped in surprise, and yet I did not budge an inch, staring daggers at Damian's face. The brunette's face contorted into a sly grin, as if he found joy in humiliating me.

But I was sick of getting humiliated.

"Damian Wayne. That was extremely rude of you. Apologize immediately." stutters out Selena, baffled by Damian's hostility. "Why must I? It is a fact after all." he scoffed, leaning back on his chair. "Damian." Bruce glared at his blood son, making him turn his head away, rolling his eyes.

"I'm not a gold digger."

My voice did not shake, nor did it waver.

The Waynes stared at me in shock, trying to explain or comfort me about what had just happened. But I didn't need it. "Your so called 'multi-billion dollar company' could become mine with a simple text. And I'm the gold-digger?"

And the tension dropped.

Damian chuckled in laughter. I stared at him in shock, just as the others did; I heard he never smiles. "Blasphemy." he stated, crossing his arms and leaning forward to look me in the eye. "You are telling me that you can buy Wayne Enterprises?" he laughed once again.

"No." I stated, making him raise an eyebrow. "I can't buy Wayne Enterprises. But what I can do, is become your major shareholder, and so, all your decisions would be made to cater to my needs."

"Oh, really?" he asks. "Yes, really." I reply, with the same tone. "Try it then." he dares, shaking his head mockingly. He thought I was kidding. Apparently, Bruce didn't, as he tried to stop the commotion. "Damian, do not provoke-"

I did not bother listening to what Bruce said afterwards, eyes fixed on Damian. I pulled my phone out. Typing a text to my secretary, Kaitlyn, who usually takes care of my work at headquarters, I smile.

Me: Buy Wayne Enterprises.

MW Kaitlyn: Buy? Ms. Walker, you cannot buy a million-dollar company.

Me: What do you mean? Of course I can. Just buy enough shares to become major shareholder, and do it immediately.

MW Kaitlyn: Should I ask why?

Me: Well, just to prove a point.

MW Kaitlyn: I cannot say I support your decision, but you're the boss. So yes, ma'am.

I wait patiently, tapping my foot on the floor, creating a beat. The silence was deafening. "So, what are we waiting for?" Jason asks, nervous. "A call." I reply, confusing them. "A call from whoever is managing your company right now." I clarify.

And even after 10 minutes, nothing happened. "So, you were bluffing. Admit it, nothing is going to happen." Damian said, rolling his eyes at me. Ugh, with how much he rolls his eyes, I wonder how his eyeballs haven't rolled off his sockets yet.

"Oh, shut up. Buying stocks takes time." I fire back. "It does." confirmed Tim, the computer-whiz, earning a glare from Damian. And although it took time, the call definitely came.

"Bruce speaking."

Bruce answers the call, leaving it on speaker for everyone to hear. "Hey Brucie, it's me." came a voice, funny and playful. "Luke." Bruce greeted. "Have some respect. I'm your dad's age."

"Mhmm. Thanks for reminding me that you're old." Luke replies, making me chuckle. "Anyway, old man-" Luke corrects himself. "-On more important matters, some chick bought our company."
