Third Person P.O.V:

As Henry and Charles stood there in the kitchen, they fought. There was multiple empty wine glasses around the kitchen, and parts of the wall were scratched up.

"Henry, listen-"

"No!," Henry yelled, "I'm done listening! I'm fucking done with your shit!"

"You have to stop, you'll wake the kids!," Charles said rather loudly. He didn't mean to raise his voice, but the alcohol always gets the better of him.

Two pairs of tiny footsteps were heard coming down the stairs, then two kids, one who was 12 and the other 7, came down the stairs.

"Daddy... why is Papa yelling?...," the younger one said while rubbing her eyes.

"Go back to sleep, dear, it's nothing," Charles said, trying to hide the tears and slur on his voice..

"Are you.. crying?," the eldest one stated while walking closer.

"No, just go back to bed..."

"You can't send us to bed!," the younger one yelled, "Why do you guys keep secrets?!"

"That's enough, Emmy..," Charles said while coming closer.

"Why?! Why don't you guys talk anymore like you used too?!," the older one screamed.

"I said that's enough, dammit!," Charles screamed in their faces, his filled with rage and pain.

He covered his mouth. Emmy, the younger one, had tears pouring down her face while she ran upstairs. David, the oldest, backed away until sprinting back up the stairs.

Charles looked back at Henry and he was rubbing his eyes in exhaustion. 

"Henry, we need to get help, we need to find someone that can fix this broken family..."

"Don't talk to me that way!," Henry screamed as he smacked Charles in the face, "Do you understand?!"

"Y-y-yes! Yes I understand!," Charles yelled while tears pour from his eyes.

"Good," Henry mumbled.

-- A few weeks later --

2:38 am.

Henry tightens his fist as he stands in the living room.

He slowly wipes the patch of blood on his cheek.

A unconscious, but still alive, Charles lays in front of him, his body crunching up into a spoon shape and his face and torso covered in scratches, cuts, and bruises. 

He scoffed under his breath as tears pour from his eyes.

From behind the man, there his a quiet, "Papa?..."

His head turns to see two children, fear dripping from their faces.

"What did you do to... daddy?," Emmy asked.

Henry slowly comes to realization what he did.

He hurt, almost killed the loves of his life. Everything special to him, he selfishly hurt. As he cried silently, he picked up Charles and set him down on the couch.

He walks over to the phone and calls someone.

"What are you doing?...," David said.

"I'm calling the police..." Henry whispered.

"Why?!," Emmy screamed in fear.

"I'm getting us help, listen to me," he replied while he knelt down in front of the kids.

"I love you both so much, but me and you father have done bad things. We're gonna go to a... nurse's office for a little while. Promise me, you'll take care of each other.."

Both the kids nodded as Henry hugged them.

"Please don't leave us, papa...," Emmy whispered.

"I'm sorry I did this.."

They stood there until Henry heard a knock on the door.

He opened it and a cop walked in. Charles slowly got up hearing the noise, surprised when he saw the cop.

A female cop walked in and stood in front the children.

"We need to take you guys somewhere, is that okay?," she asked in a calming voice.

They both nodded as she held their hands and took them outside.

She set them in the back of her police car and started to drive away from the house, the only place they'd ever known.

"Everything will be okay, right guys?," she asked the kids, trying to make them feel better.

"Y-yes...," they both said as their hearts sank.

She smiled warmly and looked back to the windshield.
