"And all I feel in my stomach is butterflies. The beautiful kind, making up for lost time..."
This place could not be anymore crowded. I am so glad I don't have to work tonight. I think to myself as I hang up my uniform in the locker, saying goodbye to the girls who leave.
"Summer. I hate you!" I hear a high-pitched voice yell. I inwardly smile before I turn around to be greeted by the one and only Lily.
"It's not my fault Paul is making you work tonight besides, who is staying here? Obama?" I will admit I've been very curious about who the 'special guests' were. It's so low on the DL that Lily doesn't even know, and she knows everything.
"I have no clue. It better be worth my while." She huffs clearly irritated.
Working at The Masion hotel had its perks; I've seen some cool people come through here, but nothing this immense. Lily and I take the elevator down to the 1st floor and just as I step off the elevator I realize I left my keys.
"Shit, Lil I left my keys upstairs" As soon as the words leave my mouth the elevator doors close. I look pleadingly at her, hoping she would accompany me on the journey back up.
"Please?" I ask half-heartedly, knowing she won't go back with me.
"I'm not going back upstairs." She states with a little scoff.
"God, you're lazy," I jokingly insult her while shaking my head.
"Sucks to suck!" She retorts before sticking her tongue out.
I let out an amused laugh before releasing a rather exhausted sigh. "Guess I'll just take the stairs." I conclude to myself after waiting a little too long for the elevator. Opening the stairwell door I sprint up the steps. Finally making it back to the 4th floor I open the door and made my way down the hall towards the locker room.
My mind drifts into an unknown place as I allow my legs to lead the way. Suddenly my head is coming in contact with a flat wood surface, knocking me off my feet and onto the floor. I can feel the warm, wet blood trailing down my chin.
"Holy fuck!" I hear from a man with a strangely familiar accent. "Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. GUYS! COME HERE!" The guy whisper yells.
I cup my nose with my hands while stumbling up onto my two feet. My eyes finally focusing on the anonymous person that stands in front of me.
He's tall and muscular, with a stunning golden complexion and rough, dark hair. His mesmerizing, chocolate eyes are filled with worry. Time seems to stop as my mind fully registers every inch of his face. His prominent cheeks seem to instantly rattle my brain as a feeling of odd nostalgia erupts in my stomach.
"Summer Danes?" He asks, causing my heart to make an unnatural halt.
"Calum?" I question still captivated by what is happening.
"Is it really you?" he asks in mutual disbelief, as his eyes grow wider and his mouth lays agape.
"It's really me" I gasp before throwing myself forward and wrapping my hands around him. Tears flood my eyes when I feel the familiar arms of my once best friend encircle my waist. We stay there, both beyond comfortable in the embrace as I momentarily forget about the red liquid gushing out of my nose.
"I can't believe you're here, I've missed you so-" he began before he suddenly removes his hands from my waist and gently places them on my shoulders, his facial expression quickly shifting from stunned to concern.
"Shit, I forgot about your nose, come here." He quickly rambles before leading me into the room he just came out of.
"Is it really you? I still can't believe this." He says while he shakes his head incredulity.
