Chapter 8: Right Back Where We Started

"2030, where it all began," Autumn uttered as they landed in 2030.

"This means we can undo the accident," Fif thought.

"Dad! Uncle Ben's heading to the lab!" A voice of a child is heard.

"Sounds like you, guys," Arlie looks at the twins.

"We don't have time for our younger selves. We have to follow Uncle Ben, who's going to the lab right now," Autumn says.

"Your kid's right," Ben tells Arlie.

Arlie, Ben, and the twins quietly follow the older Ben to the lab. Once they reach the lab, Arlie, Ben, and the twins disguise themselves as lab employees.

"We have to get into your lab," Arlie says to Ben.

"The door only opens to Uncle Ben's DNA," Fif tells Ben.

"That means I could get in," Ben thinks.

"I guess you could try," Autumn replies.

"Wish me luck," Ben tries to enter the lab.

When Ben reaches the door, the alarm sets off.  The guards ran toward older Ben's lab.

"They're heading to Uncle Ben's lab," Autumn notices.

The younger Ben attempts to run back to Arlie but is caught by a voice of a man desperate for help.

"Help me!" A man shouted to Ben, who stops running.

"You again," Ben mutters as he sees Leiar holding the older Ben hostage in the lab.

"Miss me?" Leiar smiles.

"Let him go," Ben stares at Leiar.

"Look at your pathetic self!" Leiar tells Ben.

"Arrogant but scared," Leiar mocks the older Ben.

"Just like looking at a mirror, right?" Leiar loads his gun.

"Wait!" Ben stretches his arm.

"Ben!" Arlie attempts to go to the lab but Ben locks the lab's door.

Ben using his watch, avoids Leiar's attacks and knocks him out. However Ben now needs to convince his older self to cancel the countdown.

"Please. We can still stop this," Ben tells his older self.

"But my life's work," The older Ben replied.

"You're smart. You can build or think of anything," Ben smiles at his older self.

As the countdown nears, the older Ben suddenly stops the countdown, thus preventing the apocalyptic future. 

"We did it," The older Ben sighs.

"No. You did," Ben replies.

Ben, exhausted of their mission sat on the floor as he slowly watched his surroundings change. Due to preventing the apocalyptic future, Leiar's body faded bit by bit. The lab itself slowly disappeared giving Arlie and the twins a way to his brother.

"It's changing. We did it," Arlie smiled at his brother.

"Guys...," Fif called them.

"Fif," Arlie looked at him.

"See you...soon, dad," Fif smiled as he faded away.

"Autumn," Ben looked at her.

"Thank you for saving us," Autumn thanked the brothers as she faded.

The brothers close their eyes as everything resets around them.

"Arlie," Ben pats Arlie.

"We're outside?" Arlie looks up as he opens his eyes.

"Not just outside," Ben notice they're in the middle of a city.

"Where are we?" Arlie checks his watch.

"Apparently still 2030," Ben says.

"It's so crowded with people...and flying cars, " Arlie tells his brother.

" "Welcome to the City of Acropolis" ", Ben reads a sign above the city.

"You are under arrest!" A cop shouted.

"Oh no. What have we done this time?" Arlie groans.
