Chapter 6: Masquerade

"Even though it's half is sunken, it's still a tall tower," Ben gasps for air as they climb the stairs.

"Remember, you're doing this for your brother," Autumn says.

"Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to rest first," Ben sits on the stairs.

"Dude, we're just on level five. We still have five more levels to reach the satellite," Fif encourages Ben to stand up.

Meanwhile...

"We finally have a way to contact our family," Arlie excitingly tells Leiar.

"I'm glad you're happy, kid," Leiar says.

"Thank you...for helping me," Arlie smiles.

However after he thanks Leiar, Arlie notices his watch hanging on Leiar's pocket.

"I thought that was broken," Arlie points to the watch.

"It is," Leiar replied.

"Then why do you have it?" Arlie suspects.

"Because...we might...we might need it," Leiar awkwardly smiles.

"Yeah, right. Hand it over now," Arlie says.

"Why so rude, kid?" Leiar slowly grabs his gun from his back.

Leiar quickly holds Arlie at gunpoint, revealing his true colors.

"You ever think you can escape me?" Leiar tells Arlie.

"No but I can outsmart you," Arlie slashes Leiar's arm and grabs the watch from him.

Arlie runs the stairs so fast that he reaches the satellite. He locks the door and tries to send a signal from the satellite. However, Leiar breaks into the door and shoots Arlie through the shoulder, injuring him.

"It's over, Arlie!" Leiar grins as he pins Arlie to the ground, pointing a gun at him.

Luckily, Ben and the twins arrive at time. Fif then uses a grappling hook on Leiar , binding him up and rescues Arlie.

"Come with us if you want to live!" Autumn reaches for Arlie's hand.

Arlie was speechless when he saw Ben with them.

"I...I thought you were dead," Arlie is surprised .

"Questions later. We need to escape from that guy," Ben and Arlie escape the tower.

"You, fools ain't going to escape from me!" Leiar exclaimed as he tries to escape the rope.

"Who the hell was that?" Ben asked Arlie while running.

"That psychopath's name was Leiar. He lied to me about the watch and tried to kill me earlier," Arlie explained.

"Although I'm thankful that he saved me," Arlie added.

"But still, he tried to kill you," Ben replied.

"Hope the door's gonna last. He seems like a tough guy," Fif said.

The group reaches the ground but Leiar catches them.

"Aha!" Leiar grins.

"What the! You were just tied up there!" Autumn brings her weapon out.

"Child! Did you ever think a rope can stop me?" Leiar scoffs.

"What do you want from me?" Arlie asked.

"My friend, I only wanted to get to your brother," Leiar points to Ben.

"Why do you want me?" Ben asked.

"I want to kill you," Leiar looks at Ben.

"Then you have to go through us," Arlie and the twins block Ben.

"You know I can't hurt you, right?" Leiar looks at Arlie.

"Ugh! Screw this!" Autumn attacks Leiar.

The twins are quickly subdued by Leiar, only leaving Arlie and Ben on the battlefield. Arlie attempts to teleport using the watch but fails.

"Pretty smart move there," Leiar comes closer to Arlie.

"You rigged my watch," Arlie mutters.

"I didn't rig it. I switched it," Leiar says as he shows another exact replica of the watch.

"Where did you get that?" Arlie is surprised.

"He's got the real one," Ben tells Arlie.

"Oh. They're both real," Leiar replies.

"But how?" Arlie can't think.

"Let me tell you a secret," Leiar comes close to Arlie's ear.

"I'm you," Leiar whispers.

"Stay away from my brother!" Ben pushes Leiar.

"What did he tell you?" Ben asked a shuddering Arlie.

"You okay?" Ben looks at Arlie.

"What did say to him?" Ben angrily grabs the dagger from Arlie sheath.

"Let's not be aggressive here," Leiar raises his arms.

Ben pins Leiar to the wall, threatening his stab him.

"Since when did you get so aggressive?" Leiar chuckles.

"What did you tell Arlie?" Ben breathes intensely.

As Ben was about to kill Leiar, Arlie stops him.

"Ben, wait! We need him!" Arlie exclaims as he runs to his brother.

This gave Leiar an opportunity to teleport with Ben. Seeing this, Arlie is devastated, leading to him blaming himself.

"What have I done?" Arlie kneels down.
