From Zero To Hero Part Two: There And Back Again [COMPLETED]

Chapter 3: P.O.W.

"The Wastelands is more than just a wasteland. It was a war zone," Leiar told Arlie.

"A war zone?" Arlie is shocked.

"A devastating war took place. People killed each other for resources. The killings almost made the humans extinct," Leiar explained as he held a knife.

"This...this weapon helped me escape," Leiar smiled.

"I was a prisoner of war. They killed my wife and took my kids as I looked on, helpless," Leiar recalled.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know you went through all of those horrible stuff," Arlie is devastated.

"It's okay, kid. That was a long time ago," Leiar stood up.

"Wait. What destroyed Earth?" Arlie asked.

"They say it was a science experiment that went wrong," Leiar said.

"Always is," Arlie sighs.

"By the way, what part of the world did you come from, Arlie?" Leiar sat down with a beer on his hand.

"I'm actually from the-. I don't know if you'll believe me," Arlie says.

"Try me, kid. I've seen worse here," Leiar chuckles.

"I came from the past," Arlie quickly said.

"The past?" Leiar's eyes widened.

"Yeah. You know time travel?" Arlie asked.

"Yeah. I'm familiar. Read some books on it too," Leiar said.

"But how did you time travel?" Leiar is interested.

"By using this specialized watch," Arlie brings his watch out of his pocket.

"Wow. This is amazing," Leiar mutters.

"I know right. It was created by my brother, Ben," Arlie said.

"Ben? As in Benjamin Bennet?" Leiar' excitement grew.

"Yeah," Arlie nods.

"I've read every book he wrote and memorized every inventions he built," Leiar exclaimed.

"I read about this watch too," Leiar looks at the watch.

"The problem is...it's broken," Arlie replies.

"That'll be no problem. I know every invention your brother made. I'm sure I can fix this," Leiar pats Arlie's back.

Leiar goes to his room while Arlie explores Leiar's bunker.

Meanwhile in an abandoned market...

"Hurry, kids. My brother might be in danger,"  Ben told the twins.

"Take it easy, mister. I bet your brother can handle whatever comes to him," Fif replied.

"Yeah. I'm sure he's fine," Autumn noted.

"Let me clarify something: I'm the eldest here...and you kids should follow my orders," Ben gruffly stated.

"Geez. You don't need to be so tough on us," Fif chuckles.

"Whatever. I'm leaving with or without you," Ben opens the door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Autumn asked as she threw a knife by the side of the door.

"Oh, so now you think you can scare me?" Ben walks toward Autumn.

"Yo. Take it easy, both of you," Fif ran toward Autumn's back.
