"Maybe." I said, feeling at least ten percent less nervous having this call with David. Which brought back the anger that I had towards him for everyone that has happened, that was very unnecessary and uncalled for. I'm still trying to understand why he would even do that, I mean, why give the one person who he truly doesn't like a video of me dancing, if he knew how important the dance was to me?
Hearing that soft chuckle from him somehow increase the percent of less nervous down by another ten, "Charlie asked you not to talk and just listen."
"That only apply when I'm talking to Charlie which I'm not." I fired back while fighting off the small smile that grew on my face for hearing the teasing in David's voice.
Causing the nerves to loosen up another ten percent which I was kinda hoping wouldn't happen while feeling happy that it had. "You're speaking through her phone, it doesn't count."
"Does too." David said in a little boy's voice which poked a small giggle out of my mouth. Silently cursing at him when I heard the music fading away and people started clapping hands. Shortly feeling grateful that we got here early to give in our music to all of our performances for today including mine. "You're up soon, let me talk before you put the phone down again."
Which I've been doing a lot whenever he calls me, Mom would have been very upset with me since she was the one who taught me and my siblings to allow answer whatever phone call we get.
No matter who the person may be, would have to answer it and let them talk to us wither we like them or not. Nodding my head before saying, "Alright, I'm listening."
I listen when he took a deep breath before David started talking, "Today is your day, Ariel, no one else's, not even Sapphire's. No matter what happens, just shine your light and knock them off their feet."
Did David just re-quote what I've said to him at Diamond Star?! Wow. Him doing that knocked all of the nerves that were driving through my entire body out, bringing back that calm and peace from the bus.
I was so calm that I nearly missed my name, quickly taking my uggs and soaks off before saying, "Thank you, David."
The coldness of the floor bit into my feet which protest against it, ignoring it as I typed quickly as I could before I step onto the stage to Charlie's phone which I'm hoping that she will get the hint.
Me: "Don't forget to watch Haylie's live on her Insta page."
Haylie follows all of my friends after having them at her last photo shoot, even the guys. She was following Charlie, David and Ryan before I found out that she knows them personally, so hopefully she won't have a problem.
Once I hit sent, I was about to run onto stage after handing my phone over to Janelle until Daytona gently grabbed hold on my shoulders, messaging the tense away while saying calmingly, "Just breathe, you're on time. You're amazing and you'll do great. Just breathe and walk on the stage slowly and gracefully."
Nodding my head as the crowds kept clapping, breathing steadily while walking out from the wing's shadow. The clapping grow louder when the spotlight followed me to centre stage, standing there, I looked past the bright light to find all of my family sitting in the second front row.
Having their seats in the middle, nearly having the entire row to themselves with Rosebella sitting beside Johnny who was holding Kayla. Then on the right of them sat Rebecca with Joshua, Andy with his wife Coretta, Grandma and Grandpa with Dad. Sitting beside him was Carmen and Haylie who both had their phones in front of them, camera ready to capture everything on stage.
Before the spotlight dimmed and my body grew still as it wait for the music, I caught Grandma's smile and the small message that always takes away the last bits of nervous, 'Aloha au iā 'oe Anela'. 'I love you, Anela'.
