Chapter 17

Karina rolled her eyes while giggling. She heave a sigh of relief. Feeling a lot better in this circle of friends than the old one.

....

"We're here," Giselle announced as she stretched her body

"What are we doing at the market?" Karina furrowed her eyebrows

"We'll walk from here to get at Ryujin's cafe," Ningning remarked

"What?! Ryujin's cafe?" Karina already wants to pull Ryujin's hair by just hearing her name

"Yes, do you know her?" Giselle asked as they started walking

"Yeah, I hate her ass." Karina replied

"And Karina, cover your face. Here, wear this!" Giselle handed her a cap

"What? Why?" Karina whined but she still put it on her head

"Your ex-boyfriend could be here, I don't want to deal with his shit! He always asks me about you," Giselle irritatedly said

"Wait what? How is he connected to all of these?" Karina seemed perplexed by the situation

"The cafe is near his school, who knows? He could be here," Giselle added

"Fuck," Karina cussed.

It was just a bet made by her old friends, she never liked her ex one bit! For heaven's sake they only dated for a month and they never even tried to touch each other. Like no physical interaction at all

"Why did you date him?" Ningning intrigued which also caught Giselle's attention

"Because of a bet," Karina sighed

"Damn, what's with you and betting on something like this? Love is a real thing, you shouldn't take it as a joke," Giselle scolded her with dagger eyes

"Excuse me miss hopeless romantic, I never loved him and it was just out of fun!" Karina defended herself

"Whatever playgirl," Giselle flicked her hair making Ningning laugh

"We're here," Ningning announced

Giselle wasn't lying when she said it was near the school where her ex was studying.

They entered the cafe starting from Ningning herself then Giselle and Karina. They roam their eyes around to familarize the place, it was quite huge, the atmosphere was relaxing and it smells like coffee and bread.

"What the hell are you guys doing here?" Winter groaned from the counter table, drewing the attention of some customers

"What the hell are you doing here?!" Karina asked back with emphasis

Winter held the bridge of her nose as she heave a deep sigh.

"Can we not talk right now? I'm in the middle of work," Winter forced a smile at them

They sat in a 4-seaters chair not averting their gaze from the latter.

And of course, Ryujin walked out from the kitchen holding a tray, she put it on the table beside them where the customers were waiting

Ryujin accidentally made eye contact with Karina, a smirk quickly etched on her lips.

Karina widened her eyes at the girl as if to threaten her.

"Winter baby, let's date after your shift." Ryujin yelled making all the customers look at the both of them

"I knew it," Karina scoffed, she already expected Ryujin to do that type of shit because she loves to annoy Karina more than anyone

"You heard that? I knew she wasn't straight," a student whispered but was audible enough to reach Karina's ears

"They make a good couple,"

"Ryujin is a literal goddess, that girl is just lucky to be with her."

Karina wanted to laugh sarcastically and lash out on them but she had a grip.

"Karina you look like you wanted to kill that girl, what the hell is wrong with you?" Giselle chuckled, annoying her even more

"If stares could kill, Ryujin would be dead by now." Ningning added

"Shut up!" Karina hissed at the two, diverting her attention back at Winter, she was surprised when she looked back and Winter was already infront of her

"What's your order?" She boredly asks

"You look tired," Karina worriedly said, fixing Winter's dishelved hair a little

"I'm fine, what do you want to order?" She repeated impatiently

Karina pulled her wrist towards her causing her to be out of balance and fall on her lap

Karina quickly snaked her arms around Winter as she rest her head on her back making her flustered

The customers were all gushing at the two.

"Wait are they a throuple?" someone asked making Giselle and Ningning bit the insides of their cheeks to stop themselves from smiling

"You're making a scene Karina!" Winter whisperedly said

"Hmm, you smell good." Karina complimented after accidentally smelling her hair from the back

Winter tried to get out of her clasp but she was gripping tightly

"Hey Karina, my girl is still on shift!" Ryujin shouted from the counter table, her face looks so bright. She had a teasing smile curved on her lips

Karina slowly loosened the backhug, she stuck her tounge out jokingly at Ryujin making the girl chuckle as she puts her hands up, a sign that she's surrendering

"If you do that again I'll kick your ass," Winter threatened, face beat red

"I would gladly receive it just to hug you," Karina fearlessly replied
