chapter 2

Mads pov

The next day

I couldn't sleep last night. I was thinking about Benny and what if scotty was right. does Benny really like me. Then I heard the door bell ring.

B-'' hey mads are you ready to play baseball"

M- '' yeah"

then we left to the sandlot

when we got there I saw scotty and ham with a bunch of boys

after Benny introduced me to the boys we started to play. I sat in the dugout until it was my time to bat.

B-'' mads its your turn''

M- ''hey Benny, I don't know how''

B-'' thats ok i'll show you''

i grabbed the bat and as I did Benny came behind me placing my hands in the right position and teaching me the batting motion.

B-'' now when you hit the ball let go of the bat and run"

the ball came fast I didn't know what to do.... then I was on the ground clenching my stomach.

S-'' come on kenny she doesn't know how to play"

B-'' mads are you ok"

everyone crowded around me

S-'' guys lets give her some space''

B-'' I'll take her home, you guys keep playing''

M-'' no, Benny I'm ok"

i tried to get up but my stomach ached

B-'' try telling that to someone who believes you. now I'm taking you home"

Benny picked me up and carried me home.

B-'' mads I didn't know he was gonna throw his heater"

M-'' its ok Benny. Its not your or anyone's fault , It just happened''

B-'' how are you so cool with this you just got hit with a baseball''

M-'' I'm a strong girl benny"

B-'' and a beautiful one too"

M-" your not too bad yourself''

he was about to kiss my cheek when...

S-''mads are you ok"

M-'' I'm fine''

K-'' im so sorry I didn't know you couldn't play''

M-'' Its ok kenny"

S- '' well I'll see you tomorrow''

M-'' see you tomorrow.''

B- '' bye mads"

I waved bye

Benny's POV
I hear small calling after me I turn and say
B-" yeah smalls"
S-" this may be a weird question but do you like mads ?"
B- " I guess why"
S-" don't say I told you this but she likes you and you should do  something about it. Ok bye see you tomorrow."
B-" see you tomorrow"
Wow mads likes me. I should tell her how I feel or maybe it's too soon...
