My birthday was almost perfect, I got gifts from everybody including my classmates that I received the day before my birthday and today, friends and family except for Geo. Because of yesterday's case, we had to cancel our overnight swimming at the hotel. "Hey, where's Geo? He doesn't get late" Angelica said, sitting in front of me.
"He said that he needs to go somewhere after he received a call from his mother, sabi niya baka late na daw siya makapasok sa school" Sabi ko
"Baka siguro may date siya at pinaalalahanan siya ng mama niya" sabi niya naman
"Date? Kanino? That's impossible, walang interes si Geo na magka-girlfriend, atsaka masyado siyang bata para magkaroon ng ganon"
"Talaga? Sa Pagkakaalam ko marami sa kabataan ngayon, lalo na sa mga 13 pataas ang edad nagkaka-girlfriend at boyfriend na, baka mamaya may umagaw sa'yo diyan kay Geo"
"Sino naman 'yon?" Tanong ko
"Ako" sinagot niya ng mabilis
"The relationship between you and Geo is like brother and sister" I said
"How about you? What's your relationship with him?" She asked immediately
"Just-friends" I answered
"Just friends? You clean his house sometimes on weekends, you cook for him once a day in the morning, and you call that just friends?" She shouted, she shouted that the whole class heard it. I felt so embarrassed after that. "Anyway, let's change the subject, Ano ba pangarap mo paglaki, or yung dream job mo?" Mabilis ko na iniba ang topic ng usapan namin at nag-silapilitan ng kaunti ang mga kaklase namin at nakinig.
"Hindi pa ba obvious 'yon? Gusto ko maging sikat na artista, or isang fashion model or isang star, ikaw?"
"Sa totoo lang, 'di ko pa na pag-isipan ang gusto ko maging paglaki, may mga ideya na ako kagaya ng, maging isang reporter, or isang writer, nakahiligan ko na kasing magsulat simula nung sinulat ko ang unang kaso na nalutas ni Geo sa America last year, sumama kami ni Geo kay si tita Annie sa class reunion niya sa America"
"Unang kaso?"
"Sa America?"
"Last year?" Sunod-sunod na tanong ng mga kaklase ko.
"Kung tama ang pagkaka-alala ko, I named it..'Scarlet Snow'." Nanlaki ang mga mata nila at lumapit kasama ang kani-kanilang upuan.
Last year, 2016, December 20th. Inimbitahan si tita Annie ng kanyang mga kaklase from High School sa America, hindi kasama si tito Martin kaya ako ang inimbitahan ni Geo, luckily dad asked mom on a date on the same day and I don't want to ruin it so I'll go with them, Mom and Dad said it was okay as long as I stick with them and don't go anywhere. I wouldn't go to another country without their permission first.
"It's your class reunion. Why do I have to go?" Geo asked, sitting at the right side of the car next to me.
"Well, the last time I've seen them was still back in highschool, I want them to meet you" Aunt Annie said back.
"How about dad?" he asked.
"Your father is probably busy finding girls" sa answered as she awkwardly laughed
"Mom never changes" Geo whispered
"Paano mo naman nasabi 'yan?" Tanong ko
"Kapag busy si papa sa trabaho lagi niya na lang iniisip na nambababae siya, pero ang totoo, he only loved mom, no one else" sinagot niya.
