"The old couple who owned that building..." Kenma started and he saw the slight hint of waver in your eyes as you averted your gaze, the look that passed by that showed how much you cared for them.

"They were struggling financially. The only asset they have was that old building. But since it's old and rundown, no one wanted to buy it. Assets like buildings depreciate in value over the years, and their building had long since lost its residual value. Fortunately, I know a Company that was specifically looking for old buildings to demolish and turn into commercial buildings."

You understand it now, just as Kenma started to explain it to you. You remembered it now as well, that time when you saw Kenma who left even before you could cross the road. That time you saw a man too, and he's talking to the owner of the apartment building.

Now that you remembered that, it was a day after that, when you saw the old man walking up the stairs, when you asked him if something good happened recently, what did he say again?

He said somewhat.

"When I saw just how rundown that apartment building was, it looked like it can collapse any moment, I asked them if they were willing to sell it. They were more surprise that someone was willing to buy that building. It didn't take much of an effort to secure the deal and they were given a proper amount."
