The car ride was engulfed in silence, the silence starting to turn into an awkward one as you tried to distract yourself by watching the light blurring by as if those were the most fascinating thing in the world, in a sense they are fascinating. The lights from the lampposts would blur by as the car sped. But then gradually your eyes felt droopy. After Kenma asked where you live and you told him the apartment unit, that was the last conversation you two had and that was ten minutes ago.

You tapped your finger on your lap, just so you can distract yourself somehow. But then again, Kenma suddenly spoke, surprising you even. You didn't know he is one to start a conversation in the first place. He always comes off as the silent type.

But then there he was, speaking first. "I didn't know you almost became Nekoma's manager."

You remembered Yamamoto mentioning that earlier, but Kenma was playing with his phone, you didn't know he heard it.

"Yes," you answered, turning to him. "Almost. But I was quite busy then. And I had no time for club activities."

Kenma hummed in return, shrugging his shoulders lightly as he put his elbow to the side and propped his chin on his knuckle. You guessed it would be the start and end of the conversation, Kenma doesn't look like he's going to say anything else anyways. Not that you expect him to talk nonstop. Maybe he just started a small conversation because Kenma felt like you're getting bored.
