So this is the English version of the hindi poem. Please note that it isn't exact word to word translation of the hindi one because if I do that, the English one will have no poetic feel, which I want to maintain since this is a poem on Imlie. Hope you like it. Do share your views.

She was a free bird

Her eyes twinkled with countless dreams

Judged as the black of sin was she

But how could they the colours within her suppress?

The one whom shackles of society couldn't bind

Such a fearless bird was she

One which holds happiness in every ounce of it

Similar to those clouds is Imlie!

Naughty and lively

An adorable little devil was she

The darling of her mother

The pride of her Dadda

This was her very identity!

Life then took such a turn

Destiny bound her with someone

With slight darkness cast on her soul

Her heart twisted in immense agony

Many sacrifices surely did her selfless soul make

But the weight of that pain, her heart couldn't take

Yet her childishness still stayed within her

Various colours of life did she still continue to spread

For she considered everyone her very own

But time here is a sure witness to

the change pain of love, in her made

She kept gathering her shattered pieces

Which broke to millions in taunts and insults

She still accepted everything with a smile

For the happiness of others mattered to her more

Wrapped in silence were her emotions

Loneliness seeped in every ounce of her

Never had she learnt to demand

So her rights too were sacrificed on someone else

No longer was she the free bird

Shackled in chains was she

Yet she kept spreading happiness

Despite being a stranger to her own happiness

She was a winner in others eyes

But in reality, she had lost against herself

Yet despite everything, these clouds symbolic of her dint burst

They dint drown anyone in their outburst

The one who kept abiding by love in silence

She was loyal despite her love's callousness

She was trapped in the agony of love

Yet in a way was she free

Then when the turn of love came

When her silence was caressed by words of someone

At that moment, once again she thought of someone else

And once again did she run from happiness

This is what continues to happen

For a sister has come fore pushing behind a lover

What destination shall her story find?

Will she ever get rid of loneliness?

Even now the darkness lingering on her soul hasn't been vanquished

Even now the wounds on her soul haven't been healed

Shattered yet gathered

Sad but happy

This very irony is her tale

Conquering storms even now

She is Imlie!

Love,
Pratyusha
