After finally getting everything off my chest to Brodie, it felt like a weight had been lifted. We finally decided to order something, as we had been sat at the table for over an hour and we had become ravenous. We spoke about nothing and everything. He told me about his dreams and his fears and it truly felt like I could move past what had happened over the last few weeks. That was until the two people who had caused most of my heartache walked through the door.

"For goodness sake." I muttered under my breath as they sat at the table next to us, been so caught up in their whispered conversation that they hadn't registered that I was in the same room as them.

Brodie realised what had happened and leant across the table to me.

"Do you want to leave? I can get the check and we can just go somewhere else." I shook my head and took his hand.

"No it's fine. I'm not going to let them ruin such a good night." I was met with a soft smile in response. All of a sudden another shock flashed through my wrist and I was met with the burning sensation once again, just like what had happened with Nick. This time I couldn't contain my yelps and I ripped my hand away from Brodie and cradled in my lap.

I could hear someone saying my name but it felt like I was frozen in place. I couldn't move or respond until someone shook my shoulders.

"River! Are you okay?" It was like someone had threw freezing water over me and all of my senses came back. I looked up to see Luke stood over me with his hands on my shoulders and jumped backwards out of my chair.

I looked between the Brodie and Luke, not having a clue what top say. A small hand took my own and pulled me away from the table.

"I think we need to go to the restroom." Julie said softly and followed the signs that led us to the toilet. I ignored the curious looks we were getting from other restaurant dwellers and just walked into one of the cubicles. I put the seat down and sat, thinking about how I was going to get out of this one. I briefly thought about texting Carrie to come get me and climbing out the window, until I heard a soft knock on the door.

"River? Will you come out?" I didn't respond to her. "River? I can wait all day." Still, I didn't say a word. She sighed. "Fine. I guess I can tell you about my day until you decide to come out. Well-"

"God what is your problem? Just leave me alone." I groaned into my hands.

"Unlock the door then."

I hesitated before unlocking the door and pushing it open, to reveal Julie stood opposite me with a triumphant look on her face.

"God you're annoying."

Well. Its been a while :/ I'm so sorry about how long it took for me to get this chapter out, then how for just how short it is. I promised that I'd write more but I've been having really bad writers block lately. Then when I finally got motivation again, I broke my laptop!

I promise that more chapters will be coming soon and the story will progress more, but please bear with me.

Thank you for reading,
